A little over 8 months out....
I am a newbie--so I will leave the suggestions to the long timers about snacky foods etc. But, what helps me more than ANYTHING in my journey--six months--is food journals. When I know I have to write it down it makes me feel somewhat more accountable somehow. I can't explain it, and it might not be that way for others--but it works for me. Good luck on your journey and there will be a lot of people on this board with a lot of experience that will give you great advice. You came to the right place. They have been life savers for me--and they are NEEDED!

My favorite thing to eat when I got the munchies was refried beans from Taco Bell. Lots of protein and it sticks with you. I also ate bite size pieces of cheese and maybe a piece of lean turkey sandwich meat.
I tried protein bars but never found anything I really liked. There are some good protein drinks but you just have to try them out and see what appeals to you.
You'll be ok.
Blessings,

Yeah, what they said. I have found that I can eat some snack foods that are rather slider-y and so, if stressed, can down more calories than I should. Of course, I only realize that by tracking every bite (I use www.mydailyplate.com but www.fitday.com is pretty good too).
Personally, when it seems stress eating is a good idea is a time when I find that I really need to think about what is going on. More often than not, I am tired, not hungry. Or mad and not hungry (I still want to literally "chew something out"). So I try to work with that rather than eat.
Hang around. This is a good group to do that with. :-)

Oh bless you. Try your best to stay with high protein snacks. Try some beef jerky, cheese, or roll a piece of ham or turkey around a slice of cheese for a nice snack. Pork skins or good for protein too, of you need something to crunch on. Stay away from potato chips or chips of any kind. They usually make me dump. Doritos really do me in. They make me so sick. If you are wanting something sweet, try some sf pudding. Look on my profile for some sf pie recipes that are real good. I wish you the best of luck. Just try to remember to stick with PROTEIN first, then lost of water. I know it's hard, but in the beginning, you MUST do this cause the farther out you get the harder it gets, so stick to it now as long as you can to get off the most desired weight loss.
