The Christian life is a daily thing. We cannot build on past lessons and decisions, but by our dedication day by day. We cannot live by yesterday's success or the prayers of yesterday. It was amazing to me years ago, when I realized I knew only the Bible stories that I had been taught in Bible School and Sunday School as a child. I had never really studied the Word and gotten serious with God. I was not living my Christian life daily. Think about how you or I would feel if after our children were born, they never spoke to us, asked us for help, or ever needed us in any way. That would hurt us so much. Each day is a challenge and an opportunity because our faith will be tested. We can use that test as an opportunity to grow in Christ or not. He told His disciples to be in a continuous attitude of self-denial and obedience to Him. We should get up each morning, pause and remind ourselves that this is a day dedicated to God and that it is to be used for His glory. This life is an awesome daily commitment.
