VSG doctors in Alabama

Does anyone know of any doctors that perform the Vertical sleeve in Alabama? Do any of them take Medicaid?

I perform the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (VSG), as well as laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic duodenal switch, LapBand, and Realize gastric banding.  Unfortunately, Medicare and Medicaid as well as many other insurers do not currently cover the VSG. 

Do you offer affordable financing? If so, what company do you go through? I really need the surgery, so I'm going to keep praying and not give up. I'm getting ready to graduate college this month with my bachelor's in Human Resource Management from Faulkner University,and I'm a single parent of one child, who has a learning disability. I can't afford to pay a lot, but I know my weight is affecting me in lots of ways, including getting a job among other health concerns. Do you know of any organizations or charities that help people like me that need the surgery because of health problems? I'm 28 yrs old, 5'4 and 309 pounds. Health issues: diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, PCOS/Infertility. I really would like to have the VSG because I believe I would benefit more, but would do the Lap-Band. I'm afraid of the Gastric Bypass because of all the risks. I contacted Medicaid and they stated that they pay for the Lap-Band and Gastric Bypass in Alabama but I'm having trouble finding a doctor that will accept it. Please help me anyway you can. I'll do whatever I can to make it happen.

Kim, DO NOT be afraid of gastic bypass!  I recommend you let a surgeon help you make the decision of which procedure is best for you.  I thought I wanted the lap band, but my surgeon helped me decide the gastric bypass was best for me........and I have never regretted it!  Best wishes!!
