Tuesday hugs!!
Sending out big hugs on this awesome Tuesday morning!!!! You all have a great day. I love y'all!!!
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)
King David had many brothers, but we are told that Jonathan loved him as a brother. Jonathan turned against his own father (Saul) to protect David's life. He was a true friend and stuck closer than a brother.
I have met many people in my life. I have found that a friend is someone that will tell me the truth, no matter what. They will pray with me no matter the time. True friends are always there for each other. I have a brother whom I love dearly and am proud to say he is my brother. He is an awesome man. However, when it comes to certain things, I have friends whom I would call on instead of my brother. These friends have been there for prayer, for a hug when I needed it and have pretty much told me I stank, when I stank. That is a friend...one who will love you through the good and bad, one who will be there always.

Morning Carmen!
Hugs to you, too. Today is a much better day. I have to say, I have felt amazingly well just not up to par with stamina. Haven't had pain meds since I left the hospital, been able to eat and drink close to my 64's every day, staples are coming out Wednesday (wahoooooo), have been out and about since I got home. My DD who is in college has afternoons clear and has been my companion...we have a brand new Sportsplex and Aquatics Center in Opelika that opened Aug. 31 which is super. I went and joined for the family last week. Have been using the indoor track and have walked a mile, mind you slooooooowly, several times. Plan to go this morning and get my sloooow mile in then might go back with DD and read or something while she works out.
Had early out thought I would only take off one week...well, my bosses encouraged me to take more time to get back to par and I am going to take them up on it. I plan to take this week also so I can get this eating and supplements regimen down better. My doctor has me taking carafate before every meal to protect against ulcers and liquid Nexium to cut the acid in my stomach. Sounds simple but I still miss a dose here and there.
Had our family reunion on Sunday. My father's family has been getting together on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend since the late 1880's. They originally got together to celebrate my grandfather's grandmother's birthday which was at the end of August then it became a reunion. They decided to get together on Labor Day weekend so that people could travel and have time to make the trip. It was nice weather and good to see the whole family. I think I did well eating and no one noticed my plate was not overflowing.
Well, just want you to know I was alive and kicking. I hope y'all have a great day and that you had a very nice 4 day weekend. Hugs, and hugs.....Marsha

Oh Marsha..you are doing awesome!!!!! The lack of energy is normal. Just remember, you are not consuming many calories right now and your body will get tired. However, before you know it, you will have so much energy, you will not be able to slow down LOL. It is awesome. That is a neat thing y'all do each year. What a tradition!!! You have an awesome day!!!!
Mardar, how wonderful your progress is! Keep healing and doing so well!
Carmen,
I love this verse because it can be a tribute to the relationship of a friend or the love of God in our lives. Your comment about sometimes friends being there in ways that families can't or don't brought back to mind why I chose the two support people to help me through this weight loss journey. Faye would walk on broken glass for me; Samm tells it like it is even when its ugly and both make me giggle easily. A nice combo. Thank you for the reminder!
Janice
I praise God also for my employer and job. There are so many who have no jobs right now. We all need to pray for them. There is a lady in the office where I work and her husband worked for Jefferson County for 28 years as a county inspector and got laid off and has no idea when he will return. Many many others got laid off from there and other places. I just want God to bless them and give them jobs and better jobs. You have an awesome day!!!!
I and my co-workers need your prayers! We are in banking, and our bank is not doing well--it appears most of us will not have jobs by the end of the year. Some of these folks have spouses that already lost their jobs. I am blessed, my husband's job appears secure at the moment. I am searching, but am having to look out of state as an option as well....and I don't want to move! My kids, my friends, my life is here!
Please send prayers that God will see us through and help us see his plan for us.
