I love the song that we sing that has this verse in it.  I would rather spend one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere.  Being in the presence of God is an awesome awesome thing.  I have people ridicule, persecute and come against me in all manner for my faith.   That is alright because I have a promise that one day, I will live in His presence and forever I will be able to praise Him and adore Him in perfect peace.  I would much rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than in the best mansions of the wicked.
