Biotin?

I am 16 months out and have been taking Biotin since my RNY (Feb 21, 2008).  My hair thinned out for the first several months but is now back to normal.  Should I continue taking the Biotin or is it okay to stop taking it now.  I get plenty of protein and the hair loss has stopped.  Thankfully my hair is back to the way it was before.

Anyone have any opinions on this.  I hate to continue taking anything that I can live without or really don't need anymore.  I already take enough pills as it is.

I stopped taking mine a little while ago, (I was taking the hair, nails and skin pills which are Biotin), but I am going to start back with them because my nails are peeling and spliting which they have never done before.

I take calcium citrate, but I may not be taking enough and I do not take plus D.  I will get some of that.   I do protein shakes and bars and I think I get a good bit of protein.  I need to add it up each day though.  Thanks so much, Shirley!!!

I too was taking the Biotin 5000 mcg and my hair and nails were growing like a weed... I stopped taking them and my nails started getting really thin.  I think I'm going to pick back up and start taking mine rite now...
