Thursday Coffee Talk
Good morning y'all. Time to rise and shine. Gotta spray them pits and eat those grits. HA! Right Dayner D? Today is going to be a wonderful day!
Our challenge for today is to not get so focused on money that it controls you. The love of money is the root of all evil. Boy, do I love money. We all do. The point is, do not love it to the point that it overtakes you and causes you to be controlled by it. People can get so money focused that they lose sight of what is important. Family is more important than money. Love is more important than money. Health is more important than money. The love of money can cause us to work ourselves into sickness. The love of money can cause us to become depressed (a lack of it). Money can cause us to do things we never thought we would do. The love of money can cause crime. DO NOT FOCUS ON MONEY! Don't love money so much that it is all we see. See the more important things in life.
So, who's up this morning? What cha sippin' on this morning? I'm enjoying some wonderful Boca Java Sunrise from my Secret Pal. Gotta love that Secret Pal of mine. They KNOW what I like. I better be careful or I could focus on my "love" for coffee. HAHAAHA! NOT! But I do love it. Lucy would shoot me if I put coffee before her. HEHEHEHE
Y'all have a wonderful and LOVE FOCUSED Thursday!!

For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"

Oh, great challenge Randall! You are SO CORRECT!
I am celebrating b/c this week my company asked me to take on some different responsibilities - areas in my work/career that I desire to GROW and learn.
The only sad part is that I will be giving up my 2 homes here in North AL that I have worked in for the last 10 1/2 years...it's almost as if I losing part of my heart for I have been with them so long!
I AM excited about the new opportunities though!
Happy Thursday to ya!

Good Morning. I am up and at 'em! Sipping on my usualy cappuccino and loving it. I got to bed early last night and boy did I have some good, restful sleep. I am ready to take on the day!
Great challenge. It's all too easy to get wrapped up in finances and forget what's really important...family and friends. Especially when you DON'T have any...it certainly can get downright depressing. But I have always had faith that GOD will provide for all my needs. Some how, some way...he always pulls me through the rough patches.
Looking forward to a great Thursday!

Good morning my friend!!! I was watching the news this morning and it was showing how many billions that Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim had lost in the past little bit. They had lost billions and still had billions left. I was thinking to myself...but do they know Christ??? I sure hope so. Money is a wonderful thing to have, but you are right, often that becomes our focus .... how little we have, or that we don't want to share. My grandmother was a true penny pincher. She literally saved her pennies. When she died, she had plenty of money that she left to her three children, but she died unhappy and never enjoyed any of her money. She was scared she would lose it. I will hush now LOL. I am having me some Red Diamond plain ole' coffee this morning. You have an awesome day. Love ya!!!
Good Morning Randall, this is such a great post you did this morning. So many times we get caught up in $$'s and let the love of the $ control us (or the lack of in my situation, LOL). I am so Blessed
to have a family and friends that love me, even though I have no money, I am the richest person in the world! This needs to be brought to our attention more often.
Thanks again my friend.

you know, that is absolutely correct. however, i have a different take on the whole "love of money" thing. take my situation for example. yes, i'm (somewhat) depressed due to a lack of money. but, it isn't because i LOVE money. i actually despise it. but the lack of money for me symbolises a lack of independence and THAT is what i love WAY MORE than money. my independence! it makes me frustrated and downright ANGRY to have to depend on other people. and i believe that is why i am going through what i am right at this moment. perhaps to teach me that it's "ok" to rely on others from time to time? that it's "ok" to ask for and accept help when you really need it, kwim?
Independence. Wonderful word. I'm a very independent person also. I'm always trying to do for others. A few years back I was blessed and got to go on the Emmaus Walk. It's like a religious retreat. Several members of my church had gone and knew what to expect. My sponcers took me down and got me settled in my room and came back for me. But the amazing eyeopening thing for me was I had to sit while they unpacked my bag, hung and folded my clothes, put all my stuff away. Then they made my bed. That was to remind me that when somebody does something for me they are being blessed. When I don't let them do for me I am doing them a disservice by with holding a blessing from them. I always try to do for others but I'm not so quick to say no for offers of help now. So when others are offering to help you please remember they also recieve. May you be as blessed as I have been. Love, Miss Mary
