Yeah! WHY do you have to create a separate spot for this type of stuff?? What is so inappropriate about posting WLS SUPPORT EVENTS??? But then you let all kinds of other bullsh*t go on that is soooooooo not WLS support related. It's ridiculous. And by the way many of the surgeons who pay to advertise here are sponsoring and supporting the ABS Reunion. Sorry, but your reply just doesn't wash.

Okay member services I am going to voice my thoughts on this subject. Not ever one will go and read these groups, and for one thing they may not take the time to find out what group they may need to read. It is one thing to have the groups for support group meeting and other functions but this is a one time event. What is so wrong with posting about the reunion? This a doctor sponsored event that is being paid for by doctors who just happen to advertise on this very board. We are the ones that these doctors have asked that we let the weight loss community know about the event. Does OH really want us to tell these doctors that we can not post the reunion? I would most certainly think not. Know why? Of course you do they will pull the money that they pay to advertise. If this was some functiion that was asking for money I could see where it does not need to be posted. There is a lot of BS that goes on this and ever other board that is not even weight loss related and it is allowed. For OH information maybe you all need to rethink this. A lot of OH people have left the board and now have a WLS support group on Facebook. The Alabama board used to be one of the most active board, but for now a lot of people is now over on facebook. I really don't want to see the Alabama board go to nothing but it is happening. Ever day people drop off and goes to the facebook group. If this reunion can not be posted then lets stop all the other bull crap and then lets just post what pertains to weight loss and obesity. Something needs to be done and done fast . I have more to say but will save it for another time

I appreciate all of the places you have provided for the different events. After being sent an explanation from you, I understand why the cruise cannot be published on this site and I have stopped posting about it. However, I have no clue why the reunion cannot be announced on the Bama Board. No one is selling anything. There is no money involved whatsoever. They are no even selling t-shirts. As Louise stated, it is sponsore by some of the physicians who advertise on this site.
Is it just that we can no longer announce support meetings and/or events??? I do not understand this. This IS a WLS support event. As Louise stated, many people will not go to and do not understand there are other sites to go to for information. I am so disappointed in what this has become. I use to come here for support and help. It is so sad that this has become a place for fighting, fussing and little support. It if sad that you will allow one or two people to have something so important pulled. There are many many more that sincerely want this announced and others that will not know about it unless they see it here.
And as previously stated, some dear and precious people have left this board due to your "rules" and stuff that is now allowed to go on here.

I am awaiting surgery due to High Thyroid levels. I have met alot of people from this board and made some wonderful friend's here. I read this board for a month before ever posting. The thing that drew me to the board was the closeness like Family . Where someone was there for you no matter the cause. Whether it be your weight issues , personal life ,or your normal everyday issue's . If the purpose of this site is for support then why can a post not be made here that involves a Bariatric Doctor funded support event. If it was your rules that applied then something's wrong here!!
I don't think it is rules it is a personal attack on one member from another that is affecting everyone.
