I have never been in so much pain in my life!  I have horrible gas moving around in my tummy and no way to get rid of it.  Someone told me to use a heating pad, (been doing that constantly)

I cant seem to get down enough liquid!!  I am sipping what seems to be constantly.  I have a timer I sit beside me, and when it goes off, I sip out of my little one ounce med cup until the fluid is gone and then set my timer again.

Someone please help!!  I hurt so bad!  OMG, I hurt so bad.  Just to let you guys know I have been walking, (as much as the pain will allow)

The gas does hurt but the best thing  to do is to walk, walk, walk and then walk some more. Even if it hurts you still have to walk.  Please call the doctor if you are hurting this bad as they can call in something liquid to help you. As far as getting in your liquid you just keep sipping. It does get better and you will be able to sip more each day. We have all been where you are and know how hard it is. Again give the doctor a call.

Hi Marla..... Dr. Foreman did my surgery and his nurse called two days after I got home to check on me.  She told me to chew on Chewable Gas-X real well. It did help some, but I still remember having a little pain after that but it got better. You might call there office and talk to them........Linda

It sounds like you are suffering from the gas they use to blow up your insides so the doctor can see better while doing the surgery.  If this is the problem, it will go away within a few days as the gas is absorbed by the body and expelled by flatulance.  Just to be on the safe side check with the doctor's office though.

Good luck

Walking is actually the only thing that worked for me.  And I can relate - it's a horrible, horrible pain.  Sipping liquids is good - and tho it doesn't seem like you're getting alot in, keep sipping.  Try popsicles too...they are a great source of liquid.

Hopefully, the doc's office gave you SOME sort of remedy??

Marla, it may sound to you that the doctor is unsympathic but they deal with this every day.  They are giving you sound advice.  It just takes time.  Remember every time you pass gas is that much closer to feeling good so let er rip.  lol  Everyone else can go to another room.  This pain is not because of the surgery but due to the type i.e. laposcopic.  I have heard of people who thought they were having a heart attack while others felt their shoulder was about to break off.  It just takes time and WILL pass soon.  I know this is hard to take but just give it  time.

I'm so sorry you are hurting. It will pass, promise. The gas they used on me settled in my left shoulder and I wanted to die!! Pain meds and heating pads didn't help. All I did was walk. I did make sure my husband was there with me to make sure I could make it back to the house. Keep setting your timer...sounds like you are doing what you're supposed to be doing.

Praying for you,
Gisela
