Well I've seen plenty of topics on plateaus, but boy I never thought I would get so discouraged during this time.  I am doing everything right, getting my protein, my water, not getting enough exercise, so I guess that is where I'm gonna start.  I will add more exercise into my day..Any other suggestions?

Hi Stephanie,
Easier said than done but don't get discouraged and keep doing what you know to do. What I found was when I hit a plateau I'd just ride it out then when it  was over I've drop more lbs than I expeted.. I've hit a pretty long one myself but it's mosly because I'm not getting enough protein in, and eating more carbs than I used to.
Keep up the good work, This Too Shall Pass!

Stephanie,Take your plateaus as your body on break so it can catch up with all that has gone on over the short time.your body has to rest and get refuled. This will pass and you will start another round of losing..Looks like you doing great 85 pounds in 6 months, thats great.remember some lose faster than others so sit back, dont worry, enjoy the ride..Juju

Warning"""""""""""""don't just use your scales as a judge of your weight loss. Use a tape measure also. A wise old owl told me this before I had surgery.Measure before you have surgery and write it in your journal. Measure  eash month on your surgerversary. Write it down in your journal. I did all that and I found out when I was on the platueas it didn't stop me from losing inches. Sometimes you are losing fat and gaining muscle. So even if your weight is not changing you are losing fat and inches. So sit back and kep doing what you are doing and give it more time. You are doing wonderful. Love, Miss Mary

Only two weeks?  I just came off a two month plateau that I never thought would end.  But it did finally break, just like all plateaus eventually break.  Just keep doing what you are doing.  One of the other posters was right...it's your body's way of taking a break.  Besides, when I am on a plateau, I always seem to be losing inches instead of pounds.  Before you know it, you will be losing again.  Just stay the course and keep up the good work.  That plateau will eventually end.  Look at how many calories you are consuming.  Sometimes we aren't consuming enough calories, even though we are getting our protein in.  I have had to actually increase both my calories and protein once before in order to jump start my losing.  I just wasn't eating enough and my body was trying to hold on to what little I did eat.

It's all just part of it.  We hit plateaus.  It's a fact of life.  You just have to ride it out.  Don't sweat it though.  Look how far you have come so far.  You will be losing again before you know it.

Sandi

P.S. Hope to see you at the next support group meeting!  We missed you last month.

Stephanie, same thing happened to me after I lost 80 pounds--I was at this plateau for about a month-increased exercise brought me back to loosing again--and I HATE to exercise (even to spell it, hurts)--sorry no quick fix--watch you water--get it all in.
