Surgeons in Northern AL area
I have heard so many good things about several of the surgeons in the HSV area. It's difficult to choose who I want to see. What made you choose the surgeon you did?
ALSO........I have been reading the message boards for the Lap Band and the RNY. I am confused now. Sometimes it seems as if the bad outweighs the good for each type of surgery. I am considering the lap band, but some of the posts/info I have read about it makes it seem like it's not very successful. I am having a hard time making up my mind now. I know I am only reading messages from a few people who have had problems......I know there has to be a lot of success stories as well.
I just want to make sure I am making the correct decision.

I chose Dr. Facundus because of his reptuation as a surgeon. I had the RNY because if I was going to do this thing I only wanted to do it once and I didn't think I would be succesful with the band.
I've been very satisfied with both choices.

My surgeon is not in the Huntsville area. He is in Anniston. However, I spoke with a couple of surgeons and chose Dr. Freeman because I trusted him and his staff. He was very thorough in explaining the good things about the surgery as well as what could go wrong and what would go wrong if we did not comply. I have had absolutely no complications or problems since my surgery. I had RNY and have lost 130 pounds. I need to lose around 30 more pounds to reach goal, but I am thrilled with my loss and my life now. I know you will choose the right surgery and surgeon for you. I wish you all the best.

I chose Dr. Facndus for his skill as a surgeon. For me though, his aftercare has been pretty much nil.
Dr. Murrell is an excellent surgeon ( she did my son's gall bladder surgery), as is Dr. Malipur. Dr. Malipur took me on in August when I was hosptalized with diverticulits. Amazing man.
Talk to all of them if possible, then make your choice based on who you feel comfortble with.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.
