Help with Contacts
Carmen you have just described my vision to a T. I can not see anything at night with the contacts. I had to let Beverly drive home from Auburn last night as I just did not feel comfortable driving. At night I can not tell where the car in front is as my vision is so blurry and car lights look almost like fireworks going off. I really want the contacts to work, but I did not put those bad boys back in today. Thanks for the input.
I'll be interested to see how it turns out for you. While I'm not in mono-vision contacts, I have always worn a toric lens in my left eye for astigmatism (sp?). At my last visit in November, the doc said the toric was a must since I was getting older (yikes - did you have to remind me???) because it would help with the distant/up close vision issues. He told me more than once that I was going to need reading glasses within a year (YIKES - AGAIN, DO YOU HAVE TO REMIND ME I'M OLD???) but suggested that I just buy a pair from the $$ store. Well, they are all to strong...I can't handle how things look with them. As for now, I can see pretty well up close, but the distance thing comes & goes. I have issues with night vision, too. I'm on my second pair of 'loaners' and I refuse to order any til 'we' get the prescription right. At times, I get so frustrated that I threaten to go back to glasses!! I'm really just glad to know that it's not just me "getting older"!!!!!!
*Edited to add* And I'm not new to contacts - I've been wearing them for 20+ years...YES, I AM OLD, lol.

Hey Lisa. I will let you know tomorrow what the outcome will be. My daughter wears the toric lens also. Without her contacts Brandi is totally blind. Her glasses are so thick that she will not wear them. If I could just get my near vision where I can read and my night vision cleared I would be okay with that with the contacts. Dr. Harris did also tell me that the effects of having hypertension has messed with my eyes.
