I need some input from the ones of you wearing mono vision contacts.  I really want to wear them and I am having no problems getting them in and out or wearing the contacts, but I can not see after they have been in for an hour or so. She did change them and gave me the ones that is very lubricated and they continue to dry out to where I am putting in drops about ever 30 minutes. By the time it gets dark I honestly can not see. She also mentioned bifocal contacts. For the ones of you that wear bifocal contacts or do the mono vision contacts please give me some advice and your input. Help me please I am tired of glasses.

I really don't think I can help...but I know sometimes my eye dr. has had to change my contacts several times before finding ones that didn't dry out my eyes so easily. Hope you can find someone to help!

Louise, I am not sure what you mean by mono-vision, but I wear one contact for reading & one for distance. I haven't had any trouble adjusting. You shouldn't be having to use lubricating drops that often. I would suggest going back for a fitting, or try some others. It's not good for your eyes to get so dried out.

My husband had to give up. His were dry & nothing they tried made it any better, but he has 11 stiches in his eye from an old injury.

Lisa mono vision is what you wear, one is for distant and one is for reading. That is what I am trying to get adjusted to but so far it is not working. She did change and put me in the ones that is most lubricated. She also said that they cost a lot more than just the regular contacts. I am going back for a recheck in the morning but at this point I am ready to give up and I just really want to do this. I am so hoping that she can pull some tricks tomorrow and come up with something so that i can do this. She did not tell me to use the drops but did say the first contacts were getting to dry and that was the reason everthing was so fuzzy. When the new ones did the same I started with the lubricating drops. By the time I took them out last night I was sick to my stomach with the bad vision. Thanks for the info.

Louise, if the problem is dry eyes, ask your optometrist about punctal plugs. It is a painless procedure and might be helpful.

Hey Louise!!
My glasses are progressive lens bifocals. My contact ( I only wear one) is bi focal. It took me forever to get used to it.

mine are Acuview Oasis. Hope this helps.

Renee I will ask her about that in the morning. My glasses is also the progressive lens bifocals. You all have given me some good advice as I really want to wear the contacts.

I tried them for almost a year with no success.  We tried everything and I also could not see good after about 1 -2 hours.  At night...I also could see nothing.  I have never tried the bifocals, but my opthomologist told me they would not be any better, so I did not purchase them.  I was happy to have my glasses back, though.
