Very sad news

Hi everyone. I thought I would check in and see how folks are doing.  I got terrible news last night.  A friend of mine, age 42, died of cancer.  His battle has been ongoing for about a year. I am heartbroken.  The last time he came over, he had just had his shunt placed. He didn't look good but still managed to smile. Today is a sad day for me, but today is a day of no pain and perfect peace for him. God bless you, Al, I miss you already.

My grandmother is still hanging on but barely.  She may make it through Christmas, but I would not be surprised if she did not. Preparing the girls was not as hard as I thought it would be. Children are resiliant when it comes to death.  My youngest said that if her MawMaw died before Christmas that she would get to go the Jesus' birthday party in Heaven.  How sweet is that?

I'm stress eating.  I know that is not good and I thought I had overcome that problem but it seems like I have more work in that area.  I had replaced my eating with running but it has been hard to make time to run. And, I simply have not felt like it.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas.

I am so sorry for your loss and praying for you and Al's family.
You are so right-- he is at Peace and in no more pain. You being a good friend, know where he was and is now.
I am praying for your Grandmother. Your daughter has it together! She knows what CHRISTmas is indeed!!
Donna is able to party with Jesus at the best Party ever!!!
And how she loved Christmas too.. because she loved the KING!!

I love you.. I understand about stress eating. I was going to ask you if you met the goal on the 15th but with all going on with your Grandmother I was waiting..
2009 is going to be our year to reach goals though!! I know because I have so much in store for 2009-- and GOD has given me a peek into all my blessings! He is so good to me!!
I love you!
And you are going to have the best Christmas!! YOU know what I know... it's no secret.. but it's a wonderful GIFT to share!!
Pass it on...

N anci,
I am so sorry for your loss.
And yes, your   baby is so sweet to say that.
Be blessed, and I will ask for peace in your life.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

Hi Nanci,

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your friend.  He, his family and yours are in my prayers.  It's hard to lose a loved one at anytime, especially so young, but the holidays make it even harder.

What your baby said comes from what she has learned, seen and heard from her mama!  Your children are blessed to have you giving so much of yourself to them daily.  I will also keep your MawMAw in my prayers, that the Lord stay with her and comfort her through her journey.  I know about the stress eating, praying for you too!

Christ's peace,
