My family is so sparce with work and not able to connect (momma included****il we are having to put our family Thanksgiving on hold.  Lucy, Torey, Allison, and I will be having our own family Thanksgiving.  It's going to be special.  Lucy is excited about cooking for us.  I can't wait.  With only 3 weeks to go, what are you cooking up for Thanksgiving?

My kids told me I had to cook.  I was asking them to lets go to a restaurant, but NO...momma has to cook, turkey, dressing, ham, corn, green beans, mac and cheese, field peas, slaw, pumpkin and sweet potato pies, pound cake, sweet potato casserole, and cheese balls.  I love to have all my kids home.  I don't know if they will all be here, though.  Adam may not, but hopefully, he will be here for Christmas.

We were going to drive over to GA for Thanksgiving but that's changed with my work and hubby's procedure on his neck. We'll invite over our friend and her son for the day (her hubby is deployed) and then maybe do some shopping that afternoon.

The menu will be turkey, ham, chicken and dressing, sweet potato casserole, okra, squash, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and who know what else. Dessert will be pumpkin pie, pecan pie and brownies. We'll have to see after that oh! and homemade cranberry sauce.

I need to start stocking up on everything!

"Special Thanksgiving" should be your title for your post.  How awesome this will be for it will be yours & Lucy's 1st Thanksgiving together.
(Stepping down off my soapbox.)

We are hoping that my brother & his family will come down from TN to join us for Thanksgiving.  My Mom doesn't know her work schedule yet...for she may have to work Thanksgiving.  If so, that means I will step up to the plate to be the one to cook for Thanksgiving.  If that happens, I will have someone to SMOKE a turkey for us, and I will do the trimmings.  I  SMOKED turkey!!!!
