New Member, Dr Malipur

Hi all! My name is Kim and I'm in Huntsville. I'm considering the lap band and have looked into it for years. Dr Malipur was reccomended to me by my family Dr and I was wondering if anyone would care to share their experience with him or anything you've heard about him from other patients. Thanks a lot.

Hi Kim!  I and my daughter both used Dr. Mailapur.  We had the lap RNY.  There are several on the Bama Board who had him as their surgeon and several who use him for their aftercare but didn't use him as their original surgeon.  He is a very good surgeon and just as important, he has a really good aftercare.  In other words, if you have problems, he will be right there every step of the way.  If I can answer any questions, just let me know!  And welcome to the Bama Board.

Welcome to the board!! Dr. M did my lapband surgery back in August. He and his office staff are amazing and wonderful to work with. I will tell you that he doesn't think very highly of the band because he's seen several patients eat around the band and not see much progress in weight loss.

There is a lapband group that will start to meet at the Hsv Hospital wellness center the first Thursday of the month at 5 PM.

Welcome to OH Kim!  In my opinion, Dr. M is the best.  He is an amazingly talented surgeon, caring physcian and has literally saved my life on more than one occasion.
