Looking for a Group in Huntsville....

Thank you Carmen and Mary.. you really put me at ease. I am so excited to get rid of my diabetes and my PCOS,  and of course all this weight. I can't wait to play basket ball and do things like hike. And feel comfortable in my own body. I feel so out of place all the time. And I feel like people dont like me alot. I know its my own insecurities. Because everyone says I'm one of the nicest people  that  they have ever met. I can't wait for this life change.

Carmen - welcome to the board!! I live over in Madison with my hubby and three kids but work in Huntsville. We moved here 8 years ago and love it here. I had lapband surgery back in August and would do it again in a heart beat! There is a weight loss support group that meets at the Huntsville Hospital Med Mall the first Thursday of the month at 6 PM.

Hello Carmen,

I live in Madison.  My surgeon was Dr. Facundus.  He does a good job.  I am 4 1/2 years out and I am holding steady at 148 and a size 10.  I was over 250 when I started this journey.  I am considered a lightweight.  There are quiet a few us here in Madison/Huntsville area that have had the surgery.  Well to the Bama board.  This is a great place for support.  If you send me a PM I will send you my phone number and email address.  Good luck and like I have said before I do not regret one bit having this surgery.

  I am Brandy.I am also not from this state but my husband is.I am origanally from Detroit,Michigan. I have not yet had my surgery yet but do see the surgeon for the second time on October 28.I am also scared out of my mind. I know I need it because all of my health issues and I will follow with what the doctor says.It IS a lifestyle change that i am not sure I can handle because I do have kids so it will be hard.The post on this board is Events Calendar and it tells of support groups within Alabama.Anytime you need a friend or someone to talk to email me @ [email protected] or [email protected].
