2nd Post Op

Today was my 2nd post op appt.  I felt like I had lost quite a bit of weight, because my pants are loose & my arms hang closer to my body.  But, when they weighed me today I  had only lost 3 lbs in the last week.  Dr Hannon told me that the reason I didn't lose much was because my first week I got real dehydrated & had to have 2 units of fluid, and that my body had to catch up.  But he said that I am still doing good.  No more dehydration.

Hi Beverly,

I know how you must have felt.  At my first (two week) post op visit, I had only lost a total of 1 pound...I had been reading where people were losing up to 20 lbs their first couple of weeks and I was so disappointed.  I had to have fluids and blood and I think that is what postponed mine, but it will happen.  The inches are still coming off.

I'm sorry I haven't been more support to you.  I've had a crazy couple of months and cancelled last month's meeting but we are on for this month... Tuesday night, September 16 at the Providence Hospital.  We meet on the first floor.

Take a left when you come through the front doors (in front of the information desk) and go past the Chapel through the doors to the office area and you will follow it right to the "Heritage Conference Center” (on the right) We will meet in the “Marillac Room” on the left.

I will be sending an e-mail out in a few minutes with a reminder on Monday.

I think you are doing great and I can't wait to meet you, hopefully Tuesday night.

Christ's peace,

You're feeling better, I'm sure....don't fret.    You ARE losing, if not pounds, then inches.  Try not to compare yourself to others, and most certainly don't weigh every day, once a week will be much more encouraging.   You should be ready for some exercise at this point, right?  Just walking a couple of nights a week will make a big difference too.

Keep up the good work!
