Saying Hi! Haven't been here in a while + looking for Bama Bandsters!
My name is Tonya & I have lived in Hunstsville almost three years after 30 years in Cullman. I started looking into WLS last year after my BFF had good success with RNY. I eventually decided the RNY was too drastic to start with and settled on the LapBand. I've had a slow journey to this point as I changed jobs in the beginning and therefore had an insurance change and had to wait to build up some time off! Plus, I was told I would have to lose 40# prior to surgery, and that has taken forever!!!! 
I saw Dr. Facundus & Dr. Malipur, but finally chose Dr. Foreman. He usually practices at Crestwood but will be doing my surgery at Huntsville Hospital.... I hope! Currently, I am waiting to hear back from his office that we are a "Go" and get a surgery date! Well, that's a little about my journey so far! Would love to hear about other Bama Bandsters and other patients of Dr. Foreman re: your experience, success, etc. and how you feel about your decision!

WELCOME to our BAMA board family. It' GREAT to see you posting again!! Praying you get your surgery date very soon!! I had RNY ..but there is several bandsters here that have done EXCELLENT with the band. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I had LB on 8/11 of this year. I lurk some on the LapBand Board but post sometimes. There is a suuport group that meets at the Hsv Hospital Wellness Center the first Thursday of the month. I need to get there but with kids and work it is hard to find the time.
The staff at Hsv Hospital was great with my prep work and the morning of surgery they were wonderful.
Good luck! For far I'm down 38 lbs since my initial appt with Dr. M. I've lost 22 since my surgery and as of this weekend I'm down two sizes in clothes.
