is dumping something YOU do when you spew stuff out of your mouth that makes little sense and only causes hurt feelings or is when YOU sit on the pot and it spews out the other end only messing things up and smelling bad? if so, then we both have dumping problems and protein will not help but i have been told that duck  tape is good for it. i'll try it if you will.

The information is from the book, Life After Gastric Bypass by Katrina Segrave, RD, LDN, CSCS ( I include these qualifications, becasue they have meaning to the nurses and dietitians).  The chapter in the book this is from is Chapter 22: What you nee to know aobut dumping.  The book has many other helpful chapters about diet following WLS,  Of the books that I have reviewed for the article that I am writing, this one is the best so far with this kind of information.  The book was published in 2006 and it says that a standard diet or the requirements for WLS does not exist at this point.  The book is two years old, so the information could be 2-6 years old....do you know if this is still true or have you run across a reference to something where the dietitians have established a recommended standard diet?  Seems so much is still unknown?

I had a dumping episode this morning from butter and it wasn't that much. Normally if I sit down or lie down for about 20 to 30 minutes it will pass. I hate it when I have to go but it sure does bring relief quick!! Almost any kind of sweets will trigger this in me.

Good research!!
