Alrighty, I ended up seeing the orthopaedic doc yesterday and Lisa (Blessed) hit the nail on the head.  I have golfers elbow. Doc says it's acute so I hit physical therapy this morning and will go 8 more times. We are avoiding the steriod shot until after therapy, he says it is "cruel and unusual punishment". So physical therapy was a breesze. The PT says that with golfers elbow that "no pain no gain" does not work. So I am getting heat treatments, tendon messages and light stretching excersizes along with ice messages. Oh, he did do some kind of medication treatment with a eIectrode machine. He came out with a needle and I my eyes got big...he laughed. He squeezed the contents of the needle onto a pad and placed it on the inside of my elbow and hooked me up to a machine for 10 mintues. I guess I really can't complain. I have excersizes I am to do at home and continue the ice massages at home too.   Life at home is good. I am getting used to being at home and not working...I even got a tan! (Edited to correct spelling)

I know folks will say it's an old wives tale, but I started wearing a copper and magnet bracelet and I promise the arthritis in my hands has eased up.  If I take it off after about a day my fingers begin to stiffen and become sore again.  Maybe it's all in my head....but whatever works!!! JOHN

Hey John! Don't knock the "all in the head theories" I still to this day believe in that! In fact, I told my PT that today something I did made my arm feel better and he said the same thing! LOL Someone else mentioned the coooper too! I will give it a try! Thanks for the reply. Oh, and by the way.....CONGRATS to you on your 2 year surgiversary! I can't believe it's been that long! I am so proud of you! I hope to get to meet you one day!

Someone else mentioned the coooper  Watch out for the COPPER THIEVES   This is the honest truth.  A lady that has her infusions with us wore a beautiful copper bracelet.  She said she wore it for "pain relief".  She went into the bathroom at a restaurant and removed it to wash up.  She turned her back to dry her hands.   She did not think about the woman at the other sink leaving without drying other than she must really be in a hurry.  She turned back around to get her bracelet and it was gone.   About a week later a man at a recycling place called her and told her that he had called the police and for her to come as quick as possible.  He had her bracelet.  It was monogramed inside with her pet name in German.  No doubt it was a one of a kind bracelet.  They keep records of copper now and the woman was arrested. Wonder how much copper bracelets cost these days

We are definately aware of the copper thieves here in Montgomery. Dale and I had the outside condensing unit of our AC unit stolen from our rental property about 4 years ago.  When I was in the construction industry we saw it alot on job sites as well. You have to be permitted to sell cooper here in Montgomery. I really don't know what copper runs these days???? I hate the woman lost her bracelet but I am glad she had it returned to her. Edited to say...."When I was in the construction industry..." LOL (Retired...LOL)

I agree! I've been taking glucosamine for mine on and off for years. Usually when warm weather hits mine will stop hurting. Well it has yet to stop this spring. Even with all the exercise and glucosamine I still have that burning sinsation like a hot poker is being pushed in my hip and back. Is there a web site for this copper bracelet and will it work for hip and back pain? I sure would love to find something other than another pill to take daily. Thank for the information!  I had to go to a pt for bursititus in my thigh. I was sooo happy to find out I could get rid of it. And it was nice to be pampered. I think I would love a spa. I too had exercises to do at home. Some of which I already did. It tries to act up in winter cold months. I get busy with the exercises. I hope your elbow feels better soon! Congratulations on being a stay at home Mom!

I didn't know you weren't working now.  I am so glad you found out what the problem is and getting therapy for it.  I had to go for several weeks of therapy after my shoulder surgery awhile back.  My therapy was grueling and painful punishment if you ask me, but I am better because of it.  LOL  I am so glad to see you back and posting and seeing some of the others returning as well.  I hope to see you soon.  Take care and keep in touch. Yep. gainfully unemployed. My dad chose to close the business as of Dec 31, 2007 and it took several months to complete all the stuff afterwards but I would say as of March 31, 2008 that I have been pretty much work free. There are still things I have to do every once and awhile but nothing I can't take care of in a few hours. I miss it alot but find my piece of mind is so much more rewarding now. My family life is much better too. I don't bring the stresses of work home anymore.  I hear you on the PT. There was a lady there today being treated for shoulder pain. Hers was grueling too. She is a painter and the PT had her in tears. I really felt bad. He was messaging me and having her sweating. She was there when I got there and there when I left.  I am glad to be back on the message board tonight. I have been spending so much time organizing my life and home that I really just haven't had the energy to post. I am senting on my front porch with my laptop just having fun with you all tonight. I miss you all.

Glucosamine was already mentioned, but I was also going to mention Fish Oil supplements.  Get the kind with the coating.  Fish Oil is available almost anywhere now. They are finding Fish Oil is good for your joints/tendons.  We all know or have heard that it is suppose to be good for your heart health as well as for your brain (depression/BP disorder/ADHD). My little brain needs all the help it can get, so I take it.
