How do you all remember

I have a question and need some help. I was dx about a month ago with osteoporosis in my hips and was told and reminded how important it is to take the calcium. I just cannot get all these pills down ever day. I am very complient with my B/P meds as my B/P is very unstable. One day it will be 170/110 and next day will be in the normal range. Now back to the vitamins and calcium, what kind of routine do all of you have about taking these meds. I have to do the chewable calcium as I can not swallow the pills. I do give myself my B12 injection ever month. Please let me know your routine. I really don't need a fx hip due to a fall and have to have hip replacement. Help me please.

Only thing that works for me is for me to take them out of my purse as soon as I get to work, and put them on my mouse pad...and over the course of the day, I take them.  However, if I happen to be be off (like the weekends), I'm sunk, lol.   John takes his every morning before as soon as he gets up...then takes his multi vitamin at night...that routine works for him.  I can't handle a pill that early in the morning....gotta have coffee in my tummy first!

Lisa when I have tried to do a routine I always got off track. I have the worst time when we go out of town. I have got to do something and make it work. Thanks for the answer.

Hey Louise,

This is something I have to make myself do every day. I start out at home in the morning and take a Calcium pill or my B12...that's about 5:30 a.m. About 7:30 I take my BP pill. Around 10:30 a.m. I will take my vitamin...a couple of hours later I take another Calcium pill. Later I take one of my glousamine chondroitin pills - this helps with the osteoporosis and the arthritis in my poor knees... When I get home I'll take another calucim and then another glousamine before bed. I hate it!!! It's not that I mind taking all these pills but I get busy and forget so easily. I have even tried lying them out on my desk so that I see them constantly and I still forget them at times. It's like a never ending battle. I wish there was a better way - like somebody else physically stopping me and putting them in my mouth at the right time! Now I have a kidney infection with the chance of kidney stones so I'm adding 3 different pills to my already enormous stash!!!! My BP does like yours. Yesterday at the doctors office it was 166/80 - SO he added a second pill to the 1st one. I bet when I poop you can see remnants of undissolved pills!!!! Disgusting thought!!!

Love you,
DebbieDoo

Thanks for the info Debbie. Is the glocosamine a big pill? If it is I will not be able to swallow. I am going to be looking for it an ask my gyn in the am about it and see what she say. I take my B/P at bedtime. The doctor increased mine to but being I am on a beta blocker I was not able to function on that high of a dose.

Louise , Calcium Citrate with D is the only one that really works for us per my Dr.  I have one of the pill containers that has 7 days on it .  I put in 2 of the One Source (wally brand ) prenatal vits, 2 calcium Citrates and one sublingul B-12 pill for each day .  If you work put it on your desk and leave it there all week., if not find a place on your kitchen counter or some place that you are everyday so you wont forget..  Each day in am do the B-12 under your tongue and as you have breakfast  take the prenatal or multi vit ...  At lunch take the 2 Calcium as they need to be at least 5 hours after your multi vitamin.   At night right before bed take the other two calcium as you need 4 a day or I do to make the amounts needed for my bones . Hope this helps you  Shirley

Shirley I like the idea of a pill container. I am going to get one when I go back to WalMart and see if that will help me. I also do the prenatal vitamins. I no longer work. Thanks for the input.

I take my b-12 once a month, but also subliqually (sp) each morning.  I just feel better.  I take 2 calcium tablets when I first get to work and then around 12:00 I take my prenatal vit and my B complex and my hair, skin and nail pill.  Then about 3 or 4 I take my other calcium.  On the weekends, I carry them in my pockets and take them or try to around the same times.

Thanks for the input Carmen. I have got to get something down and do better as I sure don't  need a hip replacement due to a fall. Ever thing else looked good on my Dexa except for my hips. I guess that could be why I am having a lot of hip pain.
