Topic: What is everyone eating after surgery?
Hello AF spouses...and members, don't want to omit anyone. Trying to get this board going. I've missed a couple of weeks due to my WLS.
What is everyone eating after surgery? I had drains for one week continuing with yucky broth, jello and popsicles. I had enough of that!!! But then, after drains removed, started soft proteins; egg, cheese, cottage cheese, fish, peanut butter, pbutter and crackers, cheese and crackers, yogurt and several other things. I'm having a good variety now and so far, everything is staying down and I'm doing fantastically.
What about you?
And, if you're far out from surgery, what is eating like for you now? What do you have if you go out to dinner?
Thanks for all the input,
Kim
Topic: Email group
Hey there. There's been a good response to my recent post for AF spouses. If everyone will sent me their email addresses to my email I'll create a global email and we can just have our own little support group and be there for one another. Let me know who all is interested by emailing me.
For those of you who have emailed and asked, surgery was Monday the 23rd and all went well. I'm recovering and doing wonderfully. I pray that it continues. The not eating what the family is eating is the most difficult part. I took the advice of a friend who has WLS and she chews something up that she is really wanting a taste of and spits it out. I tried it and it was FANTASTIC. I felt as though I'd had a taste. It was great.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Kim

Hi Kim!
I have also checked in here now and then and never any traffic so I'm glad you got it started!
I'm a AF spouse based at Little Rock AFB. My hubby just left for a 4 months rotation in the desert, but he was able to be here for my surgery that was Jan. 9th. I'm doing great and have lost around 26 pounds so far.
Our family, me, my hubby and our 3 kids live in a little town about 20 minutes north of LRAFB and we like it here even though we're wishing to get somewhere higher up north. I'm from Sweden and my husband from Michigan so we're having cravings for snow every winter .
All the best to all of you AF spouses!
