Topic: RE: tri-care tummy tucks
I also would like to have a tummy tuck and my breasts done. I am scared to try to do it through tri care and not get approved. That has to be hard to deal with. If I could get the help of someone that has gotten approved I will try it. Good luck to anyone of you that makes it with tri care. Congrats to all of you who have lost your wieght. I went from 280 lbs to 150lbs and am so glad to be able to do things with my 4 children again. Oh ya and my husband.

Topic: RE: I need info please!
Hi There,
I'll be having my WLS at Scott AFB on July 20th. Scott does WLS so I was able to get my dietary consult, labs, ultrasounds, through the base for free. My sleep apnea work up, cardiology and psych eval I was sent off of base for, but because we're signed up for tricare prime (enrollment is free for active duty - small enrollment fee for retirees - make sure to check this out when you return to the states) and my husband was active duty at the time, didn't cost me anything. If you're retired the visits (if you have tricare prime) should only be a $12.00 copay per visit.
Just remember to get referrals for psych evals, nutrition eval, etc. You should be able to go through your pcm and it will guarentee that you won't be responsible for the visits.
Also make sure to stop by your local Tricare office and double check that you have the correct coverage . I used to work for Tricare and we had alot of people coming in with large hospitals bills not realizing that they had the wrong coverage. Just ask them to explain the difference between Tricare Prime and Tricare Standard (way too long of an explaination to type in an e-mail). Hope this info helps

Tricare also does not pay for the dietician consult unless it is either included in the WLS package with the hospital/surgeon OR if you get it done one base!

Donna,
Tricare pays for everything involving WLS except the pysch evaluation. If you can get the pysch eval. on base than there is no out of pocket.

I see that this is a very old post, but I can tell you how a freind of mine had it done. She complained repeatedly about the rashes that developed under the loose skin. Voila! One tummy tuck courtesy of Tri-Care!

Topic: RE: Las Vegas!!!
Will he be stationed at Nellis AFB? I would say this, I lived in AZ close to Luke AFB, the temperatures are almost identical..Nellis is a nice base. I have been there TDY (Temp Duty) once from Luke AFB...as long as he can keep cool he should be ok...I also Live in Barstow Ca for 18 years which is about 3 hours east of Vegas...use to visit Vegas quite a bit.
Topic: Las Vegas!!!
My son called tonight, he says he will be stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada. Has anyone been stationed there and how well did you like it?
Thank you,
