Does anyone have a deployed spouses? I'm grateful that my wonderful husband is here with me...and don't know what I'd do without him. I had one person write and said that her spouse is deployed. Unfortunately, I guess it could happen at any time though. We're close to retiring, a year out, so I pray that all goes well this next year and then we'll be moving on with our lives. Best wishes to all, Kim

mine was deployed from may-sept, it was weird b/c i had my surgery less than 2 months before he left so i lost a lot while he was gone. he surprised me by coming home a little early, and the first thing he said when he hugged me was "where's the rest of you??" lol. the hardest part was having my gallbladder taken out a month after he left, i didn't know many people here except my co-workers, and ended up having strangers (the guys in his office) wait with me in the hospital.

Wow! Glad that he's home now...I'm sure that you are as well. That must have been tough. Do you have children? I feel bad that you had to go through the gallbladder surgery alone. That must have been rough as well. Where is your family? Are they pretty far? I'm glad that my husband was able to take leave and be there for the surgery for the entire week. He went back to work this week. He's been great. A little unsure of how he really feels about this surgery, as we're just starting out. But supportive none the less. I bet life is fantastic now that you've dropped weight. Was the gallbladder a side effect from surgery? I hear that alot of people go through that. Kim after he left, i didn't know many people here except my co-workers, and ended up having strangers (the guys in his office) wait with me in the hospital.

Hi Kim! I had my RNY a month ago and two weeks after the surgery my husband left for a 4 month deployment to the desert. so here I am, alone with our three kids and worried to death about him... But on the lighter note, it's exciting to think about that I'm hopefully going to look totally different when he comes home!!! We just had our 20 year anniversery of serving, and we can retire in about 2 years if we want. I think we're going for the full 26 years though All the best to all of you military "widows" Magdalena
