new to site
Hello, I am pretty new to this whole site and just realized there was a state of wyoming board. It does not look real active, but thought I would post anyway.
I am in Rock Springs, and hoping to get approved by my insurance to have gastric bypass.
I have blue cross blue shield of wyoming and was wondering if anyone would share their stories with this insurance. I know of one or two that have gone through the process and said it went well. That is what I am hoping for.
Thanks and have a nice week.
Paul
Hello, I am from Wyoming also, I had my surgery done In Billings, Montana. I have also heard that blue cross of wyoming is pretty good about approving this surgery, but they may be changing their minds in the future like alot of othe blue cross companies. I wish you all the luck in the world. I do not have any regrets and I am enjoying my new life. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Take care and good luck to you...

Dona, thank you and congratulations on your weight lost.
I talked with my surgeons office yesterday and they said it would be about another week before they submit it all to the insurance.
I will call them again next friday if I have not heard anything. I hope things go smoothly. After thinking about this and researching it for several years and finally making the decision, now I want it done asap.
Dont we all.
Thanks again and take care
Paul

Paul I too hav BCBS of Wyoming, I had my consult with my surgeon in Cheyenne on March 30th, BCBS got her faxed letter on the April 11th, they finally logged it onto the processing on the 14th and now I in the waiting game of approval. I have called about every other day, and the customer service gals have been very indifferant and cold. Finally I called a supervisor and complained and she is the one that checked to see if they had received it. Told me that they did and was very curtious. Its funny when I send in my 835.00 premium every month I am sure they smile!, but when I bother them with a 2 minute phone call I am inconviniencing them! I will keep you posted in how they approve me, as I know that I met all their requirements! I also have heard that they are going to suspend WLS available to us. Just me, Deb P
Paul I am with group, and I have heard that it is in voting right now if WLS will be an elective or as it is now. If it is a elective then it will not be considered any further as part of an option for insurance. That is suppose to be this summer some time. If you have applied you should be fine it is the ones after us. Deb
