Topic: RE: Fat Cats and Portly Pooches?
Our poor old cat, she is 13 and she weighs 18.5 lbs. She has always been fed just once a day. She started gaining weight when she was spayed. As she gets older and heavier she walks like I used to. Waddles. I told her I was going to take her with me to Pittsburg for my surgery and see if they would do kitty by-pass surgery. I have cut down of the kitty treats she gets when mom comes home from work. She begs for food like a dog, but only will eat meat. See, she would be a good candidate for surgery.
Topic: RE: Revision Surgery Question
I am not sure of the answer to your question just wanted to let you know that Dr stickler is a very good surgeon and a all around wonderful person that really cares about his patients you are making a good choice in seeking his opinion. Good luck!!
Topic: Walk From Obesity?
All right who is up to the challenge??
Who has not heard about the Walk From Obesity??
If not check it out, www.walkfromobesity.com
This is an amazing cause to help educate, support, and research obesity. We can make a difference. Not only that, but it gets us active. Now for those who still can't walk far, it's not about the distance you walk, it's about gathering for a good cause and supporting one another.
Just over a year ago I would have never done something like this. I'm going to be working with the group in Columbia, Sc. There are 70 walks all over the US and OH needs members who would be interested in representing us in these walks. Some slots are already filled, but if you would be interested in volunteering your time please email me [email protected]
Anyone else, I hope you will join us in walking for a good cause. To be in the walk is $25, you get a t-shirt, and fellowship. What else can you ask for, so I challenge you to sign up today in your area.
Ps. It doesn't matter what city you decide to walk in, we are ALL walking together on September 24th.

Topic: Six Flags Trip
On Monday, I took my Sunday School classes to Six Flags in KY. We chartered a bus and had a wonderful day. We had a total of 35 kids/adults go.
The trip for me was wonderful. I did not worry if I would fit in the seats and was just able to really enjoy the day. I even put on that dreaded bathing suit and went to the water park. And...fit in the bus seats.
My 20 yr. old daughter had a hard time keeping up with me. She kept saying "Mom, would you please slow down". I guess I had years of bottled up energy....who knows. I did not make it to the roller coasters. I had to watch my time for the kids to check-in with me....so that limited my time some what. But I did make all the water rides.
My sister-in-law and my 11 yr. old niece was even commenting on my energy level. I tell you it just feels good to feel good. For those anticipating/waiting/or just has had surgery...you're time is coming. I have teenage girl that is always saying "You look hot". she is such a sweetie. Whether I do or not....the compliments are great.
This surely is one of the best decisions I have made. I have lost 109 lb. and looking forward to losing the 70 some remaining pounds.
Last night I went to a band booster meeting. First time I have seen any of these parents since April/May. Some were wondering who the new person was until they realize who I was.
Topic: RE: I'm home!!!!!!!!!!
Kathy...Glad to hear you are home. Welcome to the losing side
Remember each day you feel better and better but don't overdo it until the Dr. releases you. That fluid thing is hard to get in but you can do it.
Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Topic: RE: Fighting ins co on weight loss attempts?
Jennie; I have PEIA, too. They paid for my surgery, but I had years of continous weightloss journeys. Do you have any doctor documentations of weightloss? Gather any info you can about sibling, parents, and grandparents illnesses. Good luck, God bless. Marlene
