WV is a very slow board. Not sure what is up with WV boards. Yes...if you are not feeling better call Dr. Stickler.
Have a great time at the Kenny Chesney concert. I hear him and Bridget Jones are calling it quits.

LOL.....I have enjoyed this summer so much. I feel I have a new lease on life and living it to the fullest. I have started weighted work-out at the YMCA. It is tough but I will get it.
Have a good trip to Cincinnati. I hope to make one of those meetings..maybe this winter. Summer is our busy season and it is hard to even get one day off in the summer.

Hi Janet,
I check in here everyday to see what is going on but it has been fairly quiet lately. At least I get to hear about your escapades with the amusement parks and all.

Topic: Where is everyone?
Where is everyone since surgeries? Hopefully everyone is doing well and out enjoying these warm days.
How is everyone doing?
for me...great! I started a weighted work-out class at the "Y". Talk about a workout. Last night I walked for 45 minutes....actually I think it was too hot but I got it done....or I should say "git r done"
I went and bought me a new pair of tennis shoes. I was wearing a 10 wide and now I wear a 10 medium. 10's are not hard to find but the wide width's are. I was excited. But I got excited when I could start buying my underwear at Wal-mart. It's the little things.
Anyone have any exciting things happen to them lately?
let's keep the WV boards going.

Hi Susan,
I did not go through Dr. Nease or Cabell Huntington Hospital, but I have heard good things about both.
I feel (too) I have been given a second chance. It is definitely one of the best decisions I have made. I understand your "pain". I am 6 months out and the back and leg pain are gone. It feels good to just feel good. But before the surgery, I was nervous and excited all at the same time.
Keep us posted and good luck! Thoughts and prayers are sent your way.
Topic: RE: Insurance
When I first anticipated surgery, I called my insurance company (America's Choice Healthplans) and asked if they covered the surgery. Their answer was "the Dr. would have to submit information to make it medically necessary". So since that wasn't a "no" I took a chance and pursued it. I called Dr. Stickler in Chas. and started the process. It is a chance you have to take. But thankfully my insurance approved the surgery.
Last week my husband's insurance sent an addendum concerning the requirements to be approved for surgery. His insurance is Acordia.
Hope this helps.

Topic: Insurance
How do I know if my insurance will cover the surgery? I haven't talked to my pcp about it yet, I guess that's where I start, huh? I'd hate to get my hopes up just to be turned down by my insurance...
Thanks for any info!

Topic: finally :)
Hi, I have been a lurker here for a few years, I have been preparing for this surgery since Feb of this year, as far as testing goes, well I finally got a date set, it is Aug.24th, in Huntington. Dr.Nease is the surgeon, and I feel like I have a good 1 in him. I am so excited, nervous, scared, you name it, its all 1 big natural high! I guess I just had to share this with someone, I live alone, but I envy each and every one of you that has had this done, I live for the day of not having so much pain in everything I try to do. I feel like I am being giving a second chance here, so I know I better not mess it up! lol.....I would like to hear from anyone that is going thru Cabell-Huntington, and Dr.Nease, to me I think he is a god-send. Have a good weekend out there, hope to hear from somebody.
