Bobbi,
I would wait until you have almost completed the full six months of the physician supervised dieting.

Oh My Goodness. I would have never guessed that you would be the one to reply. I guess that all these good things that I have read about you are true. You do care take the time to respond to the members on this site and answer questions. Thanks so much for your help. I was the one that came to your office 09/26/05 with Jenny Whisman and you were very helpful then as well. I took your advise about the BCBS and I got some quotes. @ 250. a month... how long should I wait to submit a request for surgery. (remember please that my income is very limited) Thanks again so much for caring.

Bobbi,
Currently the BC/BS Mountain State is one of the insurances that is very good about coverage but they do have a strict criteria that you MUST have six consecutive months of physician supervised weight loss with monthly visits to that physician with documentation of weight each month. They also will generally require that you lose weight on the program or they will not count it. Other than that, their criteria is pretty standard.
Good Luck,
Dr. Stickler

I AM NEW TO THIS SIGHT AND I JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE!! I ALSO HAVE A QUESTION, I AM LOOKING INTO A INDIVIDUAL POLICY WITH MOUNTAIN ST. BCBS. IF ANYONE HAS USED THIS INSURANCE OR KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIER POLICY PLEASE FILL ME IN. I DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE AVAILABLE TO ME AT WORK AND I AM DESPERATE TO HAVE THIS SURGERY. MY BMI IS WELL OVER 50 AND I AM A MOTHER OF FOUR YOUNG CHILDREN. PAYING FOR THIS SURGERY IS NOT AN OPTION. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Topic: Hello everyone. Been awh...
Hello everyone. Been awhile since I posted. Been busy preparing for my youngest daughter's wedding which is next Saturday the 8th. Also tomorrow is mine and my husband's 5th wedding anniversary. And guess what? We are going to be grandparents again!!!!!! My oldest daughter found out this evening that she is pregnant. Her son will be 4 yrs old on the 1st of December. She is very happy. I am too. What an anniversary present. I am getting a new son-in-law next week and a new grandbaby next year.
As far as my weight loss goes, I have lost (according to my scales), a total of 58 lbs now. I was originally hoping to lose 50 lbs by the time the wedding got here. I have done that. Now maybe I can lose another 2 lbs by next Saturday to make it 60 lbs. Been doing fairly well. The last couple of days I have been really tired. I am taking my vitamins and my appetite is still the same. I have no appetite but I eat because I have too.
I hope everything is ok. I don't see the surgeon until the 25th of October. Well I better go for now. Take care all and God bless.
