Topic: It's been awhile
It's been a while ...I've been post op 3 mths going on 4 I'm down 66 lbs and BMI is 38.9 Excess body weight is 35% loss...so I'm doing good problems I'm having are more emotional didnt realize how much i loved food..and having a hard time finding clothes that really fit and having some skin problems I am already looking into plastics I'm not sure if I can afford them or if my insurance company will pay for it but I will somehow be able to get it done. My legs are really big so I definitly want something done about that . Just wondering if there is anyone in the area in there 20's that has had or is thinking about having the surgery that can relate or possibly relate to my situation...Anyone know when the next Huntington WLS Monthly meeting is ? The next one at cabell huntington hospital

Im looking for a surgeon doing the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in either WV, PA near pitt, or Ohio for a friend.

Topic: National TV Show Interview?

I spoke to a national morning TV show this afternoon. They have asked for our help in locating people who are willing to share their personal journey and struggles with obesity. They will be featuring an important series on Obesity next week. The show will pay all expenses, travel, hotel etc. They are currently seeking:
One child, one preteen, and one teen-(Parents permission needed. The parent must be the one to respond.)
They are also seeking one person who has not had WLS but may be considering it or would like help.
And finally, they would like to interview one post op patient or someone who has lost allot of weight on their own.
If you are interested in sharing your story and would like to be considered, please send your name, email address and phone number to: [email protected] Please indicate what segment you would like to be considered for and share a little of your story. (Doesn't have to be long!)

Hi bobbi i also have WV Medicare im just starting out my self i do know you have to have 6 month proof of a physicians diet that you have been on in the past 2 years. I didnt notice if you have a dr yet if not check out mine. Just wanted to say I wish you the best of luck !..........Anna

Topic: Ten Days Doing Well!!!!
10/31: Curt (341 303). I am postop ten days now with no problems. Getting some exercise. Have been shopping and eating out (Cream broccoli and cheese soup at Ruby Tuesday on Saturday). Can sleep almost normally on my side and stomach. Biggest problems: Real gas issues today. Not painful but annoying. Other problem: I want protein. I envision a cup of finely shredded carolina style barbeque in the worst way.
