Topic: RE: Any Regrets????
Hey there Donna! I had WLS January 11th and have lost 135 lb. I had tried every diet out there...some twice plus had a membership to the YMCA. I feel WLS was my only way to lose the weight. Having the WLS and knowing what I know now, I do not regret for one moment on having the surgery. I just wished I had done it earlier. I still have about 40 lb. to go and the weight loss has slowed down. But already shedding 135 with only 40 more to go.....I know I can do it. As far as lap band better alternative than gastric bypass surgery, personally I think it is an individual's decision. I felt the gastric bypass surgery was a better choice for me. Janet

Topic: Thank you all for Caring!!!!
Dear Obesityhelp Members, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and all your cards and gifts. It really cheered me up and made me smile every day the mail came.I got Cards, gift baskets, flowers, teddy bears, smiley faces and cookies and a yoyo with a smiley face. you all brightened my days up and still are with your prayers. I am back to work as much as I can be, they still have me on many pain medications and it really messes up my concentration so here in a few weeks I should be back to normal. Again I really do Love you all and thank you all for the Cards and Gifts. Love Always

Topic: Any Regrets????
How many of you have had the gastric bypass surgery and love the weight loss, but honestly wish you would have found another way to loose weight?? How many of you almost regret getting the surgery? And is the lapband surgery a better alternative than the gastric bypass?? If you could have lost the weight any other way, knowing what you know now, would you still have had a gastric bypass??? I am curious...thanks!

Topic: Help me help hubby
I was wondering if any of you guys could email my husband about your success with WLS. He is at [email protected] I have been determined to have it by the time I am 40 and have been trying for 6 years. Well, I am finally on my way with surgeon consultation scheduled. My husband is on two types of insulin, numerous meds, and takes Aleve every day for pain. He is only 47, but is disable and doesn't do anything he enjoys anymore. Hunting, fishing, etc. used to be all he wanted, but now, he barely can get necessary things done around the house without a daily nap. So, I really would like him to help himself so we both can get healthy together. Anyone, out there been through this or willing to help me out? He won't actually go to this site, but I tell him stuff that is being talked about all of the time. My 14 year old walks by the computer and asks, "Mom, are you on the fat people messageboard again?" My whole family is supportive of me, but I would like my husband to show more of interest for himself too. Thanks in advance.

We had a full day at WVU today. I have been freed to move up to real food. I have craved meat for a week now. When we left, we stopped at a local restaurant and I was disappointed to find nothing with serious protein with the exception of their baked beans. As I always say, "No guts. No glory." I ordered the beans and gingerly tried them. No pain, no discomfort, no dumping. So I had about 1/4 of cup. The beef and bacon in the bowl were superb. Three hours later I finished my little side of beans at home. Ain't life great!!!! Curt

Topic: RE: West Va !!! Need your help...
WARDENSVILLE, WV FOR SURE! National Forest, population around 5000. The largest business in town is Dollar General and that has been there less than a year. Highland Trace is the local realtor and great prices! Look for Hardy County WV and Gore. My husband swears by their fishing lakes. I plan to retire there. My husband would live there now if would let him. Good Luck!! Keep me posted.
