I bought proti diet from my surgeon. It is a liquid that you mix with 5 oz of water. It kind of tastes like Kool-aid. That was my source of protein until I could have soft solids. Good Luck!!

I was reading your post and had to chime in. I am from a town about 25 miles from Sago mine. I personally knew a couple of the men whom lost their lives. It is an enourmous tragedy. These families will certainly need all the prayers and comfort they can get right now. My DH has 2 cousins that work in Sago mine, they normally work night shift but since Sunday was a Holiday they were not at work. I am thankful that they were fortunate enough to be home and safe. The good lord works in mysterious ways and we should all cherish each and every day we are blessed with on this earth.

I just received my surgery date which is next week and they wanted me to bring a box of protein supplements with me to hospital. Are there anyother supplement besides the ones at the office that I can use in phase 1. thanks

If anyone has any information as to a fund, can you please email me. I have been asked by people, including our school. I do not give to the red cross, I used to volunteer with them and know where the money really goes. If you know how to reach the Church or a local group that would know if a fund will be set up for the families, please let me know. thanks. email [email protected] Gary Viscio www.obesitylawyers.com rny 7/1/03

I've been up watching the news since 11.30 last night, I'm nearly sick to my stomach. May God bless the souls of the 12 miners that didn't make it, and give the strength needed for the sole survivor to pull through. Liz

Kim, I do know that medicaid and medicare will cover the surgery if you meet the qualifications. My doctor is in Huntington WV and he accepts both of these. His name is Dr.Blaine Nease and he is a wonderful surgeon. I had surgery six months ago and I would never think of anyone else doing my surgery. I hope I could be helpful. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

What a great night to be a Mountaineer!!!!!! As you probably can tell I am elated. Our WVU Mountaineers has just upset the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl with the score of 38-35. I am very proud of those guys and to Coach Rich Rodriguez who comes from my old home town and graduated from the high school just down the road from my house. Had to tell everyone. Take care all. I have medicaid and I know its very hard to get approved with it , I know they will need a medical weight loss diet and diet history, and have other health issues like diabetes, heart disease, lymph edema. Just anything looks great on the surgery file.
