Topic: Exclusion question
I know, weird question for y'all. Here's the story in a nutshell. As some of you know, I have the lovely CIGNA insurance. I just received my second denial. Well, I just found out yesterday that the company my hubber works for was bought. He announced that the insurance will be changing in 2 or 3 months! No more CIGNA Horayyyy!!!!!! BUT... will the new insurance have an exclusion? What will happen if it does? The new insurance will be Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I have seen good things about them from this site! Quick approval! Does anyone have a list of the states that have the law preventing them from making weight loss surgery an exclusion? If West Virginia is one of the states that says insurance companies can't make WLS an exclusion, I will feel a lot better about this change. Also, I don't know what to do about the 3rd appeal. Should I do it knowing they will be gone in 2 or 3 months and waste my time? I don't even know! Anyone had this happen to them before? Any advice would be welcome!!! Thank You!! Sandy~Daimond

Topic: We are in the final ...
We are in the final testing stages on the beta site for the NEW look for Obesityhelp. If you haven't looked please do so. http://beta.Obesityhelp.com The full roll out will probably be sometime tomorrow afternoon. The site will be totally different, many of the same things, just better organized and added features. This change is essential for the many features that have asked for, uploading your own photos, profile privacy options, profile blogs, private messaging, etc. These will NOT all be in place for the change over, but will be coming VERY soon after the beta site is live. We have listened to member concerns with the site and message boards and are working on those things one step at a time. Be advised that we don't anticipate any problems, however anytime that you make changes, you never know what may happen. We will quickly address any issues that come up during the changes. Thanks for your patience as we strive to give you what you have asked for. :) Amy Williams OH Staff

Topic: been long time since I posted
Hello all, It has been awhile since I posted anything. I have been very busy lately with work and my kids. My oldest daughter is going to have another baby within the next 3 weeks. I can't wait. She is due May 31st but the doctors are only letting her go 39 weeks. They plan to induce her a week early. She is considered high risk because my first grandson was born at 27 weeks. Angela had preeclampsia very bad and we thought she would have it again. They are watching her very closely. My grandson is 4 yrs old now and he does not have any problems. Just spoiled rotten. Of course I had nothing to do with that. Angela is having another boy. Her other son's name is Miguel Lewis and she is naming this one Caden Antonio. Their dad is Puerto Rican. I have been taking Angela to the doctors on Mondays (my day off). She is hanging in there but she is very tired and she still have to work. My other daughter is doing fine. Her and her husband work every day (on different shifts though). They got married on October 8th of this past year. They still need our help once in awhile. But other than that they are doing fine. As for me and my weight loss, I am down 108 lbs. It is slowing way down now, I oly lose about a pound or two a month. Havent been doing the best on my vitamins and trying to get in as much protein and water as I can. I have to get back on track. Had to cancel my 9 mo check up because of my car being broke down. Then had to go and buy a new car about a week ago. Haven't had a car payment in over a year until now But what is a person to do. Oh well. My next appt is in June so hopefully I can lose some more weight by then. I am getting saggy though. I might not be losing the lbs but I am losing the inches. Well I better go for now,got to get ready for church. Take care all sorry for the post to be so long. Kathy -108 lbs

Hi, I don't think that it covers Lap Band, but it Does cover RNY Gastric BYPass, My husband and I have both had this surgery our surgery was done at UVA Medical Center in Charlettesville, VA with DR. Bruce Schirmer. We live in West Virginia and we had not trouble getting approved for this surgery but were told that this was the only type of WLS that was covered and that we had to meet certian criteria for this to be covered. Our surgery was covered 100 0/0. Dr. Schrimer is the best ... Go and check our profile, you will get a detailed account of our journey. God Bless, the MUNCY's

Topic: West Virginia's Men?
Hey there guys! Sorry that this is sort of a "Broadcast Message" For all of the Men out on the Obesity Help Boards But I just wanted to drop by an Invitation. It's great to see other men out here. We make up such a small percentage (12%) Of the people having Weight Loss Surgery, But tend to reach our goal weights quicker and with less Or at least Different hassles than the Gals Due to Male physiology. Drop by the Men's Message Board And check out what other men like you are going through. It's a diverse make up of Dads, Singles, Older, younger, etc... Pre-Ops, Post-Ops new and some Old (at Goal) Post-Ops. Lap-Banders, RNY'ers DS, etc... Great bunch of guys with the mutual understanding That WLS for Men can be a totally different Journey. Stop by to add your questions, advice, opinions, and info at- http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/men/ It's Great to know we're not so alone, And that there are others pulling for you. Hope to see you 'Round the Boards! Best Wishes- Dx
