My doctor is leaving, and they are trying to get me approved before he leaves. I love him, he is a great doctor.  But, the State of WV takes so long to approve surgeries and that is just not right.  But,. I am looking for doctor's in the State of West Virginia, that have been approved Cert, and a center of Elecent.  Please if you know any doctors, that take Medicaid please let me know.

Thanks
Rob

Dr. Akkary is the BEST, but from what I have heard he is leaving in August  2010.  I like him a lot he is very caring, and shows you the support like non-other.

My surgery with Dr Akkary is scheduled for Monday, June 28th.

From the reviews I've read, he seems to be a very good physician with an outstanding bedside manner and seems to listen well to his patients. Of course, I have only seen him once with my initial consult, but i have to tell you that i was pretty impressed. He isn't the type of doctor that rushes you or ignores any questions that you have. He will give you his honest opinion and seems very sincere with his answers.

Unfortunatley after August, he will no longer be with WVU. I was told at my pre-op that he has scheduled for surgeries up through August and then will be leaving WVU Ruby. He hasn't found another hopsital to practice out of yet (as of my pre-op visit), but I was reassured that once he does that we would be notified. They did, however, stress strongly that Dr Akkary wants to be within an hour of Morgantown.

START OVER!
If you've started out in pursuit of your goal
And you've really tried with your heart and your soul,
but somehow things got out of control ---
START OVER.
When you've tried your best to do what you should
And you thought this time that you surely would,
But once again, you didn't do good ---
START OVER.
When you've worked so hard to follow a dieter's way
And you fought to win a victory each day
But one more time you went astray ---
START OVER.
When you've tried so hard to yourself to be true
And do the things that you know you should do
But once again you failed to come through ---
START OVER.
When the road to success seemed much too long
And each temptation was oh so strong
And once again you gave in to wrong ---
START OVER.
When you've told your friends what you planned to do
And trusted them to help you through
But soon discovered it's up to you ---
START OVER.
When you know you must be physically fit,
But your hope seems gone and you're stuck in a pit
That's not the time for you to quit ---
START OVER.
When the week seems long and successes few
And at weigh-in time you're feeling blue
Remember tomorrow is just for you ---
START OVER.
To start again means a victory's been won
And starting over again means a race well run
And starting over again proves it can be done
So don't just sit there ---
START OVER.

Hi Rob

Good Luck getting your surgery approved.  It seems like they make you jump through hoops.  Let us know how it goes

Topic: Anyone been approved with Medicaid??
Hi I am looking into having the surgery; but all I have is WV Medicaid. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had the surgery with only having Medicaid? If so, what were the requirements and how long did it take to get approved? Thanks for any info!

Hey, everyone last year I was hoping to have my surgery, but the State of WV did not approve me, it's been 6 months or more and in about a month from now I might know if they are going to approve me this time or not.

I am really hoping that they do, my doctor, Dr. Akkary at WVU and his team just got a Cert for being a center of Excellence, for these surgery's and I hope that will get the state to approve me. I have Medicaid and I a hoping this time.

Good Luck to you all.

Rob
