Lisa:
I had my lap RNY on 9-19-06 in Charleston. I have not made a meeting in Charleston yet either. I live in Parkersburg, it's the time and distance for me. Hope to make the November meeting. Would like to compare notes with you since we are just days apart.

Donna:
This is normal. I am 5 weeks out (9-19-06). I too cook for my spouse and know what you mean. It gets easier. Anytime you diet you can get moody and bite everyone heads off. Especially if you are used to caffeine and have stopped drinking coffee or pop. It is a big adjustment, but in the long run it is worth it. Think of this as the beginning of your new life. I keep telling myself anything worth while is usually not easy and that keeps me going. Some people set goals for themselves. For me, my goal was better health. I can tell you I am down 40-50 lbs. and I already can breathe better, am walking more and just feel better. Hang in there.

I get B12 shots at my PCP, and I cannot tell a difference either. I think it is 1 cc also.

Topic: How long?
OK, any patients here of Dr. Charles Goldman in Morgantown, WV? I received my approval letter on October 18. How long before I get a date? It says I have 60 days and Mary Anne said she would get back to me soon.
Can you tell I am anxious? Lots of planning to do!

Please, know that you're always welcome at our suport group meetings the 2nd Friday of each month at 6:00pm at 600 Tracey Way in Northgate Business Park in Charleston. Hope yo meet you face to face some day. We're always here if you need us.

Hi Kim,
Nice to meet you. I take B12 sublingual from Medabolix 3 times a week. But I know the people in my support group that take the shots know when it's time for one - so that tells me they do feel different. Might want to email Dr. Stickler or Kelly and let them know how you're feeling. Just go to Medabolix.com and email them. I know they monitor the site daily. As for protein. I've never had a problem with it, but I use an unflavored and put it in everything. Yogurts, soups, eggs, salads anything I can. It doesn't always look too good, but it's the right thing to do so you do it. I also lean towards meats and foods that are high in protein to get it in. I try to average 100 to 110gms per day. You have to supplement your diet with protein products and shakes.
Even if you're diet is impeccable, you cannot eat enough to get it all in everyday.

I was wondering the same thing. Not much happening here. I'm new to the OH site - had RNY 9-13-06 in Huntington. Haven't planned on making this meeting but would like to attend in the future.
