Topic: Anyone else been on the 3 month liquid diet for Dr. Goldman?
I am on day 15. 21 pounds less, but I am so sick of milk and fluids. I need some ideas to make it more "enjoyable"
I gag when I think about milk.

Thanks Peggy. I chose Womens & Childrens over and above the hospital I work for due to the excellent care I received there after my hysterectomy last year. I finally decided as I was tooooooo nervous to have my surgery anywhere else.

Donna: Who is doing your surgery? I wouldn't worry about the 60 days. I am sure that the doctor will make sure you get your surgery down in the time limit. My surgery was 2 weeks after i got approval.
My husband tells everyone that I am doing this and have been dieting since July and he has lost 30 lbs. I guess I changed so many of my habits and even the way I cooked that he lost weight. Plus it could be the fact that since I wasn't eating all the junk, he didn't get all the junk.

Good Luck Christy. If you are going to be at Womens and Childrens, you really can't be anywhere where they will treat you any better. That's where I was. I can't say enough good things about the care I received there.

Hang in there Donna, the rainbow is in sight. I am in the Charleston area and scheduled for Nov. 14th. Have you got a date yet?
Topic: RE: I'm in need of a W.V friend!!!!!
Angela,
I lived in the Martinsburg area for 15 years. I just moved to Charleston about 3 years ago. I am dating someone who lives in Inwood and I come up there at least once a month. I'd be glad to meet you for lunch sometime, or exchange e-mail addresses with you. What ever you're comfortable with. I had my surgery in May 2005. I haven't had any surgery-related problems. I have been at the same weight for about 8 months or so and if I had to have the surgery again tomorrow---I would in a New York minute.

I too am getting used to regular food. I have found out that I cannot eat scrambled eggs. I did very super up until this point. I am not sure if I am going to be able to tolerate milk. I haven't gotten sick yet, but feel quesy. So, I keep waiting a week or so and try again. Other milk products don't bother me.
I had checked out your Dr. before I decided on Dr. Stickler. He sounded good too.

Topic: RE: B-12 shot----I can't tell a difference when I take it.
I got a B-12 shot about a 2 weeks ago and had the same result - no real change. I have since started taking B-12 sublinguil - one daily and that has made a real difference. You might want to try it.

Hi Peggy, I had the lap RNY on 9-13-06 in Huntington, Dr. Nease. Compared to what I read on some of these boards, I have had no problems at all! I am just getting to the point now where I'm trying some new things but so far so good - how are you doing?

Thanks Peggy, at least I know I am not alone. My husband hasn't been feeling well, and is extra sensitive to my moods. I am on day 10 of my liquid diet and forgot this was PMS week also! So, I am so moody!
I had made this decision in 1999, but it has taken until now to get insurance approval. I have 60 days to get it done without starting all over again, and my surgeon hasn't given me a date yet. So, you can imagine the stress in my house right now!;)
