Topic: RE: Do you plan your meals OR just go with the flow??
I pretty much go with the flow to a point....Since I drive truck I am limited....I buy alot of lean cuisine, healthy choice and smart ones.....so I choose from one of those I have on hand. I have salad everyday sometimes with lunch and dinner. I pretty much have a protien drink (100 cal. no sugar) 17 grms. and a 60 calorie yogurt for breakfast. I choke that down because I am not a breakfast lover either but I know I need to have it. When I am at home I cook. I have found ways to make sugar free fat free cakes and I make a mock potatoe salad with cauliflower and low fat mayo instead of potatoes and it is great!! and if you like pumpkin pie make it useing splenda and egg beaters and fat free canned milk. I make it in a spring form pan and that way there is no fatty pie crust. If I snack it is usually fruit an apple or pear or grapefruit.

Hello from Grafton!! I don't spend much time at home though.I am an over the road truck driver and I am in Boise Id. at the moment. I wish this board would wake up! I had my surgery in Feb. 2005 and I lost 185 lbs. I am glad I lost the weight but I sure have been through alot of mental changes and I can't say I have enjoyed all of them. Does anyone else go thru the mental end of this? The cravings ...the worry about gianing weight?....sometimes wondering if all the work is worth it Do you sometimes get tired of "running the race""?.....I question if I really did it for good health or was it for social exceptability. I am down to 88lbs. and in a double zero jean. That is probably INSANE!!! and now I feel pressured to stay this way. How many of us have had someone say "You know you can gain that weight back"...I don't know maybe I am a nut just wondering what kind of head changes other people have went thru.
Topic: Hey Braxton, Nicholas, Webster, Clay and surrounding counties!!
Hi all!
We are still working to try and get a support group started in the area in and surrounding Braxton County, WV. I am in Duck, WV (Braxton Cty). I went to the group listing and sorted by city so that I could find the folks who were in Braxton, Clay, Nicholas, Webster, Gilmer, Lewis and other nearby counties. I sent private messages to the folks I found listed in this area (40-50 messages sent) and have not gotten even ONE response! Do I just assume that folks are not reading their PMs? or that they just don't care or are not interested in participating in a local support group?? I soooo want to think that folks just aren't reading their PMs and that this is an ineffective way to spread the word about this support group idea...
Any suggestions?????

Does your protien count include shakes or is that just from your food?
I am really struggling with getting the protien shakes down, now I have the liquid protien and that is not much better. I am really worried that I am not getting enough protien.

It took me a long time to finally come to the decision to have something done. I just couldn't diet any longer I had done it my whole life. Once I started researching the Lap Band it took me over 7 months to get all of the things done that I needed to do for approval. I am so glad that I didn't give up. I almost did several times. Then once I was approved I almost chickened out. Glad again that I had the strength to see it thru.

Thanks Kim,
I'm trying to get as much support from these boards as I possibly can. I love reading and learning about other people's experiences.

I don't go to support groups but I am told by my doc that they have them at Ruby Memorial certain times of the month.
