Topic: PLEASE HELP!!
I had gastric bypass in Sept. 02..I lost 110 lbs in 6 months and kept it off for a few years. This past year I have been through great amounts of stress and have started eating more and exercising less due to some medical issues resulting from the Bypass. I have got to get this under control before I gain it all back. has anyone in the Charleston area gone through the same thing and can anyone3 shed some light on where I start to finally kick my metabolism into high gear again and drop 30 lbs? Please feel free to e-mail me directly at

I have lost 44lbs since surgery. I am 5'7 and I was 230lbs. I had diabetes and my knees also hurt. I am considered a lightweight with not much weight to lose,90lbs. Right now I am at a stand still, I havent lost any for a week, I've stayed the same.

Susan, thank you for replying to my message. I called the number Monday and they told me the seminar for March was full and that I would have to wait until April 19th seminar. I was very disappointed, but will have to just go with the flow.
May I ask how much weight you have lost since December 28th? I want to lose around 90 to 100 lbs. I'm just 5' tall and this weight is really taking it's toll on my knees.

Dr Shin performed my Lap RNY on December 28. Go to the seminar and he will explain everything. I usually watch the Main messageboard on here.
Topic: RE: protein drink question?
It is up to you! Most post-ops I have chatted with count ANY liquid they consume including the liquid used to mix up protein shakes as well as the liquid base in soups (broth or water). I only count clear liquids, so I count the Isopure Zero Carb because it IS a clear liquid. I don't count the water or milk used to make a protein drink, but I very rarely (maybe once a month) drink those! I also don't usually count the milk I put on the bowl or two of cereal I have each week. That is my choice though... I know other post-ops who DO count it! If you are really concerned, ask your surgeon which liquids you can count!

Lea, thanks for the info. I know they are kind of pricey. Do they count as water intake too? If so you can kill two birds with one stone. I can't imagine how difficult this is going to be to try to get in 64 oz of water and at least 60 of protein.
