Topic: HI
HI, I have been looking for a message board in hopes of finding others my age that has experience with the gastric bypass.  I really like this one!  I have not had the surgery yet but, will be attending the first siminar in August at the CAMC Women and Children's Hospital and hopefully will be approved by my insurance to have it done.  I have been obese for years.  I have always been overweight since 1976 (after my 2nd child was born).  That was my fault due to eating too much.  I have tried so many diets off and on throughout the years.  My weight loss just yo-yoed back and forth so I will start with the year of 2003 I weighed 300 pounds.  By 2005 I finally got down to 270 and  went to Curves trying to lose more.  Their plan was good but I was not able to keep up the workouts due to health problems. In 2006 I weighed 260 and started the weight loss plan with Medabolix.  I did really good with their plan but developed stomach trouble due to the foods I had to eat and had to make changes.  Yep, I gained it back plus.  Sooo, here I go again.  I now weigh 256 and I do hope to get approved for the gastric bypass, loose the excess weight and make my body healthier so I can walk without hurting.  I miss being able to participate in activities with my husband and four grown children and eleven grandchildren. Does anyone live near Elkview, WV?

Topic: Size 36
Hi guys,  I am sitting here in size 36 jeans. I was down to one pair one size 38's and they were a little loose.  The little woman and I were at Wally world yesterday evening and I decided to buy a pair of jeans. I grabbed a pair of 38's and a pair of 36's, just for ****s and giggles. I tried the 36's first and as I was unfolding them I thought this will never happen, but they fit.  A year ago I was wearing size 54 and today a 36. Oh, did I tell ya I can wear a size 36? Little excited, can ya tell? LIFE IS GOOD!!! pan head

My wife and i both had Dr. McNatt as our surgeon for gbs in 2005 and could not be happier.  Ann has big shoes to fill as Mary Ann's replacement. Curt

We are from Berkeley Springs and my wife and I both had gastric bypass at WVU in 2005 with Dr. McNatt as our surgeon.  We are very pleased with the care and the results. Between the two of us we have lost almost 280 pounds and have nothing but great things to say about the surgery, the doctor and WVU. Curt

I met Dr. McNatt while in Ruby Hospital.

I was a little dissuaded by some of the things Ann had to say to me at my last appointment.  Everything seemed to be the opposite of what I had been told initially even though I am successful.

I guess I didn't want to change so soon after a major surgery and I was looking for something.

Thanks for you response.

How are you doing?  Any complications?

Good Luck to you.  It is well worth it!

Hi, I was also a patient of Dr. Goldman and now I am seeing Dr. McNatt. I have met with Ann and she seems to know what she is doing and is willing to listen.

I'm not from Martinsburg but wanted to say welcome to the  WV board. As you can see there isn't a whole lot going on here but if you have any questions feel free to ask me. Michelle
