I just got my surgery date today.. they're really busy but they're still wonderful. Ann managed to get my paperwork approved less than a week after it was submitted, and my insurance is picky (Aetna) and so far they're pretty good :)

You cheered for him on TV when he walked away with the Biggest Loser title and now you can read about Erik Chopin and his decision to forgo weight loss surgery and choose to lose his weight through diet and exercise. Erik's story about weight loss and plastic surgery appears in the latest issue of OH Magazine, as well as a sidebar from his plastic surgeon Dr. Andre Aboolian who explains what you need to know if considering plastic surgery. Readers will also learn about Lap Band fills; saline vs. silicone breast implants--what you need to know; finding intimacy; and fitness basics. You will also receive delicious recipes for the fall season and see before and after photos of your fellow OH members. This issue offers something for everyone whether you are considering weight loss surgery, already underwent weight loss surgery or are losing those excess pounds through diet and exercise. Hi Everyone! The Beckley WLS Support Group meeting will be held on MONDAY, October 15, from 7:00-9:00pm at Raleigh General Hospital on Harper Road, Beckley.   Guests are welcome and everyone is encouraged to attend! This month:  We have a speaker scheduled to appear from Medabolix.  Jeremy Mullens, R.D. will talk to us about nutrition and how it is the foundation for long-term success.  Also, discussion about weight-loss surgery, food, plastic surgery, and anything important to you! Directions to the new meeting room:  It is a new building behind where our old one used to be (this building has been torn down).  You will see a wheelchair ramp and some steps leading to a glass door.  There is a small sign that says "Education Center."  It will be fairly obvious once you are there.  There is parking in front of the building and to the rear, so you won't have to park in the main parking lot.  This is a permanent change. You can view our monthly calendar by visiting our support group website at http://www.geocities.com/beckleywlssg/  The 2007 meeting dates are also listed below. Looking forward to seeing you on the 15th! Beth ------------------------------ 2007 Beckley WLS Support Group meeting dates (all Monday meetings): October 15, 2007 November 19, 2007 December 17, 2007 - Christmas Party (If Raleigh County Schools are cancelled due to weather the day of our meeting or the following day, the meeting is cancelled also.) ------------------------------ If you would like to receive an email-reminder for the Beckley WLS Support Group Meeting, please email us at [email protected].

Topic: RE: Dr. Shinn
Hi Joy!  I just saw Dr Shin on Sept 25th for my consult.  I am waiting on insurance approval now.  Dr Shin seemed like a caring surgeon and I've only heard good things about him and his staff!  It took me 2 months to get in for my appointment once I finished my 6 months of supervised dieting that my insurance requires.  Dr Shin said that all of my paperwork seemed to be in order and I shouldnt have any trouble with insurance approval.  He said that I could possibly in surgery at the end of October or beginning of November!  Its been a while since you posted this...so where are you in the process now?  By the way, I live in Clay! Topic: WANTED: Do you have a CPAP that you no longer use?

I need a CPAP for sleep apnea.  If you have a CPAP and no longer use it, I am in need and would greatly appreciate yours.  Free or I may be able to pay a small amount. Please call 304-587-1122 if you can help.  Leave a message if there is no answer and I'll call you back or send me an instant message on yahoo, my i.d. is: mskitty221.

I recently went to my long awaited surgical consult. I've been dieting for 8 months and have lost 40#'s! I am still waiting on insurance approval, but the surgeon says I've completed all of the necessary steps and approval shouldnt be a problem... He said I should be in surgery by the end of October or beginning of November...

My only obsticle is the my surgeon insists that I get a CPAP for my sleep apnea. I was diagnosed in May and tried a machine for a month. I didnt adjust well to it and my insurnace wouldnt pay for the CPAP so I had to return it. Now, to get another machine, I have to get scheduled for 2 more sleep studies (ugh) and then wait for insurance approval and the machine company to contact me and get one to me...last time the process took over 2 months...

I need a CPAP...does anyone have one I can have?

Thanks in advance for any help!

-Crystal
