surronding areas of charleston is good for finding acres. if you want cold and snow then summersville and beckley has it, charleston and huntington are warmer. I live in a small town called chelyan,  we travel to summersville lake every weekend in the summer and love it  But the winter snow is bad and cold, not to many things to do other than the lake, thers so much to do in charleston ,good schools, church ,entertinamint. 10 to 15 minuts out of charleston you can find nice homes with acres.

Barbara, I have since tried Unjury. It's not too bad, but I'm going try your suggestion. Thanks. My date is not until July 14, but I would like to find something before surgery. This site rocks and I'm so glad people are so willing to share their stories. SherylLynn

Sorry about the late reply but I don't get on this site very often.  I read your posts about revision surgery and thought I might give you my experience.  I had gastric bypass in April 2001 lost appr. 130 pounds.  My first surgery was done by Dr. Denning in Huntington.  I regained all the weight after a while because I  never felt full.  I decided it was time to do something about it and called Dr. Dennings office which is now Dr. Neases practice about 1 1/2 years ago.  It took me awhile to get an appointment and then had to wait in their waiting room for 3 1/2 hours only to see Dr. Nease for maybe 5 minutes tops.  It was a nightmare trying to deal with their office so I contacted Dr. Robert Shin in Charleston by email and he emailed me back the following day saying he would love to try to help me with my problem, set me up an appointment and to make a long story short I am now 6 months out from my revision surgery.  Dr. Shin is a great, great doctor with much compassion for those of us who need more help than some.  He found problems with my first surgery and was able to work with me until we got my insurance to approve my second surgery.  I have now lost 104 pounds and am doing fine.  Dr. Shin follows up with me every three months which I never really got with the first surgery.  I am sure Dr. Nease is a fine surgeon he has a great deal of satisfied patients, they just didn't seem to care much about my failed surgery.  After 2 months and 3 1/2 hours in the waiting room I felt like I deserved better than 4 or 5 minutes with a hand on the doorknob visit. (there I got that out, now I can move on).  I would be happy to talk with you about my revision or answer any questions you may have.  Good luck to you what ever you work out.  Tammy

Hi!  I live just outside of Charleston in a little town called Comfort.  It's close enought to get to everything pretty quick, but still out in the country.  Dr. Daniel Stickler saved my life.  He performed a vertical sleeve gastrectomy almost 2 years ago.  I was the first one he had done and the first one done in WV.  I have lost 290 pounds.  He is the best bariatric surgeon I know.  If you have any questions, let me know.  Dr. Bandak, in Charleston, is my plastic surgeon.  He is wonderful!!
