Revision Surgery Question
I had my stomach stapled (VBG) in 1993. I did lose some weight with this surgery; however, the result was neither substantial or sustained. I have an appointment with Dr. Stickler in Charleston, WV on 8/4, but I am very concerned that he will not be able to perform the RNY surgery laproscopically due to the fact that my VBG surgery was an open type of surgery. Does anyone know whether or not it is possible to have the RNY laproscopically after you have had previous weight loss surgeries? I really need to get this weight off, so I can enjoy life with my children without leg and knee pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Erin...
I can't answer your question, only Dr Stickler can. But I can say that if you want a Dr with an ourstanding skill level and bedside manner, you've picked a great one!
8/4 is not that far away... so think positive thoughts! Let us know what you find out. I'm in the pre-surgery program with Dr Stickler's office now.

Barb,
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. I just can't wait for 8/4 to get here. I am praying that he will be able to do the surgery laproscopically, but I am also willing to have it open, too. I hope that I don't have to wait very long, before he can perform the surgery. I am very excited to be thin for, once in my life!!
Thanks,
Erin
