2 more days

Well counting down to the wire about 33 more hours to go and I am on my way. Had my pre-op visit,signed consent forms and all that stuff and now doing the clear liquids for today and tomorrow and doing the dreaded bowel prep. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this all worth it which I am sure. My surgery is schedule for 7:30 Thursday morning if nothing happens. I will leave here about 3:00 a.m. to get there by 5 or 5:30. My girls are very worried about me but I tried to tell them I will be ok. I am scared,nervous and excited too. This is a big step for me. But I can't wait to be on the losing side. Hi Kathy, You are in good hands. I also had surgery at 7:30am. We stayed at the Hampton Inn right beside Magees the night before. So far the worst part of the surgery has been the bowel prep and this stupid drain. I will checking in on you on Thursday. Goodluck. Heather

Thank you Heather. Hope you are feeling better. Yes that nasty bowel prep. I hope I never have to go through with that again. How are you doing on the liquids. I am not hungry yet but wait until tomorrow. Did the antibiotics make you sick? Well talk to you later. Kathy

The Metronidazole is a killer if you don't get it down on the first try. I actually vomited mine back up. My drain site is so sore and irritated. I talked with Gina and she said to take 2 extra strengh tylonal and clean with peroxide. Also did Dr. Hamad tell you about a home health nurse that will be coming to your house? I had no clue until the day after my surgery they set up arrangements. She came here twice, but did absolutly nothing. Heather

WOW! I did not have to do any bowel prep or liquids. I just had to quit eating at 6 p.m. the night before and no liquids after midnight. All your feelings are normal. It can seem overwhelming but ohhhhh wait until you start losing. It will all be worth it. I am 6 months out and would do it again in a heart beat. Janet Aren't you the lucky one. I don't mind the liquids right now. In fact I am having jello and chicken broth right now. But that bowel prep last night was a killer. I am a little jittery but doing ok. I am going to clean today to keep my mind occupied. Thank you and everyone for you prayers,thoughts and advices. Keep them up.
