I'm BACK
Well, my surgery went well. I didn't have any complications except for pain...I ended up having to get my self up and walking because the nurses were to busy with paperwork in the middle of the night to do that. So, in the end it worked out for me. I got to go home on stage 2 liquids didn't need a g tube and draining my jp drain my self...I am doing as well as can be expected walking as much as I can. Thanks for all the prayers and support it really helped me through alot. Cant wait to take a again LOL

Leann,
Glad your surgery went well. I had a "pain ball" inserted so I didn't have much pain. If you are in pain and medicine not helping, call your surgeon. The first pain medicine they gave me, made me sick so he had to change it. I did not sleep flat. We made an incline for me to lay back on. Needless to say I did not sleep sound but was able to rest without pain in back or stomach.
Is there anyone at home to help you? I got a shower the second day after surgery. And yes.....it felt so good but my husband had to help me. I guess I needed help in the shower for the first week.
Just remember....don't rush things. Everyone reacts and heals differently. Listen to your body....and call your surgeon if need be.
I hate you had a less than best hospital stay. I was in CMAC Women's and Children's and was treated like a queen. I have never had such great service from a nursing staff. I would let your surgeon know.
I go for my 6-month checkup today. I am excited about that.
Keep us posted....and take it easy! but keep walking.
