Hi Shannon! It doesn't seem like this board is very active. I see you didn't get an answer to your post. I'm not going to be much help... I don't have a clue yet about the protein drinks. Try posting over on the main boards.. they're more active. I wish this board were more active... I KNOW there are lots of people out there getting WLS. Let me know how you are doing! ---Barb A

Shannon, I've been using 8 oz. chocolate Carbcountdown Milk, which has 12 protein, and mixing it with AdvantEdge vanilla protein powder from Walmart. The protein powder has 20 protein. It makes a good protein shake for 32 gm protein. I got the milk at Kroger. I wasn't sure at first that I would like it but it's not bad. It sure does help to get the protein in. Hope this helps, Jenny

Shannon, Sorry...been out of town and trying to catch up with work...so I haven't been on in a few days. I never could tolerate the vanilla or chocolate shakes. I go to GNC and buy the Isopure "no carb" fruit drinks. Plus I still drink the proti-diet drinks as well. GNC also has other protein drinks that you may like as well. I joined the GNC gold member and get a discount the 1st week of every month. A friend gave me a recipe for a high protein shake...that is not too bad that uses skim milk and fruit with protein powder. I will get it tonight and post it tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone I think I did answer the question on the main board..but I will do it again here. Carb Countdown milk is ok for a treat but not to be used as a protein supplement. there are calories and not as much nutrition..though it is high in protein. Try going to bariatriceating.com vitalady.com www.boost.com premierenutrition.com revivalsoy.com and of course there is GNC.( i drank problend 55 for a long time).becareful with drinks from the store as some of them (not all) have sugars. In weight loss surgery for dummies and other things I have read that people who drink a significant amount of milk do not lose quickly.. but we are all different. I order my protein from www.bariatriceating.com I love the drinks with bits of fruits or chocolate ..yumm If you can make the conference there will be lots of protein to sample.. have a great day! I ordered a 'sampler pack' from www.bariatriceating.com. Since I'm pre-op, I have the luxury of shopping around for some that taste good. Not that it will do you any good now, but as I taste the different ones I'll let you all know how they taste. I should have it any day now. I like the idea of the sampler pack with different small sizes... that way if it tastes like mud, you don't have to throw away $$$ - just the mud! ---Barb A

Pre-op I shopped around and ordered sampler packs and taste tested. After the surgery my taste buds changed and could not eat most of what I had ordered. After surgery I could not tolerate chocolate or vanilla shakes. As long as it was a fruity flavor I was fine.

I bought some of the EAS soy protein and mix it with fresh pinapple bannan and splenda ice and water. It is pretty good. I also like the unjury protein in vanilla. I mix it with my coffee and it taste like a cappuccino. My Dr sells the unjury at his office is where I get it.

There is this one drink that I have started having every night, I LOVE IT! It is from medabolix and it is called Mocha. The box says it can be a cold drink or a pudding, but I heat mine in the microwave. After heating, I add some fat free whipped topping on top and drink it that way. It tastes like a big cappiccino...(really bad spelling...haha) Just an extra idea. The carb countdown everyone mentions is wonderful! -Amber

Go to bariatriceating.com. I ordered Nector-very cherry berry and a sampler, it had ice tea, lemonade and fuzzy navel. Just add two scoops to 8 oz. of water= 46 protein, sampler has 12 protein. I just placed my second order for a fuzzy navel. It was real good. It was $22.95 For 2 pounds. Total with shipping $31.29 Best tasting and protein I have found and I have tryed everything. Fuzzy navel is better than cherry to my taste. Hope this will help you. Better than anything you add milk to. Katrina
