MALPRACTICE INSURANCE
Tamara, I heard.........now, this is all hearsay.....that Dr. Stickler isn't going to be doing the surgery until he gets new insurance, but Dr. Shin and whoever else is in his group still are doing the surgery.......so, they will probably just schedule you with one of them.......not to worry.........but I'd get on it right away if I were you. My doctor is Mark Johnson, in Morgantown, who unbenounced to me I heard is no longer doing the surgery.......from a pretty reliable source......Anyhow, I'm going
to be calling Johnson's office tomorrow morning to get it "right from the horse's mouth," and if it's so then I'm going to see about getting an appt. with Dr. Stickler's group.
It's a pretty long drive I hear, from Morgantown, to whereever he is, but whatcha gonna do. So Good Luck To You, but I really don't think you have anything to really worry about.
How far are you from Dr. Stickler's and have any idea how long it takes to get there from Morgantown? Maggie
Maggie, depending on how fast you drive we are about 125 miles - all interstate. You are correct, I have been without malpractice coverage since July 1, despite no bad marks on my record and no malpractice claims. This is something that is affecting many physicians in the state. The good news is that I should be back operating within the next two weeks.
Dr. Stickler
Dr. Stickler, thank you for responding to my post. I am happy to hear of your "good new". I will be calling your office tomorrow for an appointment. On October 1st I will have completed my "one-year doctor supervised diet",thereby completing everything the insurance company required of me for Approval, which I have been told will be approved in 24 hours after such info is submitted. So hopefully I will be able to get an appt. with your office shortly and get on with my life. Thanks again, Maggie
