I HAVE BEEN DENIED.......

YES ALL I HAVE BEEN DENIED AS I THOUGHT FROM PEIA/ACCORDIA NATIONAL........THEY SAID BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH DIET HISTORY.......WELL I HAVE BEEN PREGNANT FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS....I HAVE BEEN GOING TO MY PCP SINCE I HAD MY LAST CHILD IN SEPTEMBER...BUT THEY CANT WEIGH ME AND THEY DIDNT DOCUMENT WHERE IVE BEEN ON A 1200 CALORIE DIET...."I AM" GOING TO APPEAL......THIS IS MY HEALTH NO ONE ELSE HAS TO CARRY IT AROUND....I HAVE A SECONDARY INSURANCE BUT DOCTOR STICKLER DOESNT TAKE IT ...IF I HAVE TO I WILL FIND ANOTHER PHYSICIAN WHO DOES AND WILL.........ITS JUST SOO FRUSTRATING......DONT WE ALL WISH WE WERE RICH AND DIDNT HAVE TO FOOL WITH INSURANCE..... i HAVE DEALT WITH THIS WEIGHT ALL MY LIFE AND FINALLY FIND A SOLUTION AND GET REACH IT........

Josie, I am so sorry.I know what you are talking about,It would be nice to just say " I will pay cash" Dr Stickler seems to not take alot of insurance.I am on the pcp supervised diet.I wish I had know all of these hoops we have to jump through, befor I got so set on this surgery.(((HUGS))) Dar

Rumer has it that Dr. Schirmer is really great about helping with the insurance issues. His staff is wonderful. All I can say is his staff are wonderful. He has a post on this site. Just look up Dr Schirmer, he is in Charlottsville, VA at UVA. It is a 4 1/2 drive from where we live. And well worth the trip. My husband is haveing surgery first then a few weeks later I am having mine. We are finishing up some loose ends, like gallbladder sonagram, Stress test. All test will be complete by June 23rd. Then we will be on our way to surgery...... Check out Dr. Schirmer, what do you have to loose..... Marsha

Sorry to hear that you have been denied. I hope you are able to win on appeal. I have ben denied on my tt and breast reduction. Hope to se you at this month's meeting if you can make it. Debbie S

I'm sorry that you have been denied. I also was denied by PEIA because I had 4 surgeries before. They told me that it was a new rule that just started in May. I have appealed also. I pray that they will change their mind and will approve us both. I will pray for you. Susan from McDowell
