Any WV/Dr. Shin Lapbanders????

Just wondering if any folks out there have had the Lap Band procedure done by Robert Shin in Charleston? I'm going that route myself. In the seminar he seemed like a wonderful, caring and personable man. What kind of experience did you have with the surgery/surgeon? Thanks in advance. Teresa G.

I started out wanting the Lap-band but they didn't talk as found of it as the Bypass. For me Gastric bypass seemed to be better. I would suggest going to both seminars before deciding. Loved Dr. Shin!

I also considered the Lap Band but my insurance will not cover it. They classified it as experimental. I am having the RNY done by Dr. Shin in late June 2004. I also think he is a wonderful doctor. He done surgery on my cousin last month and he has really been good to her.
