Home from surgery
Hey everyone! I had my surgery Tuesday. Boy, they are quick I got there at 7:25 and was called back at 7:30 and was ready for surgery by 8 (which was scheduled for 9). It took a little while for the anestesiologist nurse to find a vein to start my IV. He also was not happy that my potassium level was still low. Anyway the next thing I remember is waking up in recovery and squeeezing the nurses hand and lifitng my head. I felt some pain but no more than with other surgeries. By the time I woke up in my room I had good pain medicine so I was fine. A few hours later I was up walking the halls and got in my 20 ounces on Wednesday so I could get my IV out. As everyone is I was excited to get to go home the next day. Well, Wednesday evening I started running a fever of 102 degrees and I did so on and off through the night. So needless to say as the other 3 patients went home I got to stay an extra day. I was moved to 3rd floor which was no biggy for me. Everyone was super nice and the nurse from bariatric floor was there also til 11pm. So once I got in my room they did my stats and my temp was down to 98 degrees and did not go up one time while on 3rd floor. That made me getting home a day later for no reason but that is ok. I did it, I am actually on the losing side now and plan on enjoying it.
I think I am going to rest now and get in my fluids. If anyone has any good ideas for Phase II please let me know.
Thanks for all of you who posted me a message .
