Surgery and arrhythmia

I am scheduled for surgery July 1, 2003. I have an arrhythmia, the surgeon knows this and is gonna order an EKG as part of my post op testing on the 26th of June. Has anyone had surgery or been denied surgery that has an arrhythmia? I have nothing else wrong with my heart except is beats strange. I am so nervous that I am not gonna be able to have the surgery. I have gotten over the nervous anticipation of the surgery itself, now I am afraid I can't have it.

Crystal, That is so weird. I am scheduled for surgery in Morgantown on July 2. I also have an irregular heartbeat, but the doctor does not seem concerned with it because it isn't a constant problem. The EKG (which I too will be taking on the 26th) is more for a baseline record then to eliminate you as a candidate. It is my understanding that the anesthesiologist also likes to have a recent EKG on file. Good luck. I'm sure all will go well. Try to relax.
